After graduating from the City University of Hong Kong (Japanese Business Major) he has been contributing to the Chinese music scene and has released more than 200 pieces of work to date including music and lyrics. Chet has opened for international acts such as k.d. lang and Louis Elliot in Hong Kong. In addition to chart topping singles and sold out musical plays, small gigs and big stadium concerts, Chet also writes columns for magazines and newspapers.

In October 05, Chet Co-headlined with the Grammy Awards Nominee Vocal Sampling (Cuba) in , giving two energetic shows at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong. 2006 sees Chet Lam putting up his first English album with five supporting shows in Arts Centre.
