MY LITTLE HOMETOWN
Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Woo, my little hometown
More, more, more せつなくて
Take it easy, slow down
No, no, no 倦怠りぃじゃん
More, more, more 笑ってよ
Woo, my little hometown
More, more, more 咲く頃
Merry-go-round
No, no, no 塩辛ぇじゃん
More, more, more 食べれないっと
I say!!
Woo, my little hometown
More, more, more 虚しくて
Take it easy, slow down
No, no, no 倦怠りぃじゃん
More, more, more 何処でしょう?
The lyrics to 桑田佳祐's "MY LITTLE HOMETOWN" paint a nostalgic picture of a small town filled with memories and a sense of longing for the past. The verses describe walking along a path in a pine forest, feeling the sea breeze and the scent of the ocean. In this town where the singer was born, the future seemed bright and full of possibilities.
The song mentions a young baseball player who never went to the sea, only getting his arms tanned from playing in the sun. Riding a bicycle, he would sway unsteadily and listen to the sound of waves at the star's field. These vivid details convey a sense of innocence and simplicity, depicting a carefree childhood filled with joy and exploration.
The chorus expresses the conflicting emotions of looking back at the hometown. The line "Woo, my little hometown, Yo, yo, yo, やっぱいいじゃん" reflects the singer's fondness and realization that their hometown was indeed wonderful. However, the lines "More, more, more, せつなくて" and "No, no, no, 倦怠りぃじゃん" convey a hint of sadness and weariness, suggesting a yearning for the past and a sense of dissatisfaction with the present.
Overall, "MY LITTLE HOMETOWN" is a heartfelt song that captures the bittersweet emotions associated with reminiscing about a small hometown and the desire to hold onto its precious memories.
