From when she was little, Nishino learned English from eikaiwa schools, and went to America twice. She then was interested in various genres of music, including hip-hop, R&B and reggae. On the other hand, she also enjoyed traditional Japanese literature, and started singing Japanese folk songs. Her dream of becoming a singer started from junior high school. When she was 16 her mother secretly sent a demo tape of hers to the Miss Phoenix Audition
In 2007, while preparing to be a singer, she was also studying English literature at university. At the time she met Australian duo Nervo, who offered Nishino a song called "I Don't Wanna Know" for use in her music project. Nishino rewrote the song's lyrics into Japanese herself, and re-titled it I.
In December 2007 her official site opened, and from that time onwards *I* ~Merry Christmas ver.~ was available as a digital download from several Japanese sites, including mora.jp. Interestingly, the original version of the song "I Don't Wanna Know" was available as a digital download on the American iTunes from New Years' Day onwards. The physical version was released two months later, on the 20th of February.

Baby girl いつもより lookin' so good (oh)
完璧にキメこんで like a cover girl (oh)
Show me now right here right now
We're beautiful
輝き放つ yes we're beautiful
I don't care what they think of me
遊んでるヒマはないから show me now
You don't know how to get my heart
La la la yes we're beautiful
(Ah v-verse two is comin' up yeah)
That boy さっきから lookin' at me (oh)
一緒にしないでよ so we're beautiful
Show you now right here right now
We're beautiful
輝き放つ yes we're beautiful
I don't care what they think of me
遊んでるヒマはないから show me now
You don't know how to get my heart
La la la yes we're beautiful
So sweet な愛のコトバがほしいの give it to me (yes we're beautiful)
だから show me now
Oh I'm just searching for real love, sweet love, true love
What I need is love
We're beautiful
輝き放つ yes we're beautiful
I don't care what they think of me
遊んでるヒマはないから show me now
You don't know how to get my heart
La la la yes we're beautiful
We're beautiful
輝き放つ yes we're beautiful
I don't care what they think of me
遊んでるヒマはないから show me now
You don't know how to get my heart
La la la yes we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
Yes we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
Yes we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
Yes we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
Yes we're beautiful
In the song "Beautiful" by 西野カナ, the lyrics express a sense of confidence and empowerment, particularly when it comes to appearance and self-worth. The song opens with the repetition of "Oh-oh-oh-oh," setting a playful and catchy tone. The opening lines talk about a "Baby girl" who is looking exceptionally good and presenting herself flawlessly like a cover girl. This sets the stage for a theme of self-assuredness and glamour.
The lyrics then delve into descriptions of shining lips, a polished body, and entering a party like a VIP. There is a sense of anticipation and excitement as they "land" in the club, ready to show off their beauty. The imagery of heels clicking on the floor and turning heads like a controller conveys a sense of power and control over their surroundings.
As the song progresses, it introduces a male presence who is admiring the singer, showcasing his flashy car and attempting to impress with his boasting. The lyrics reject the idea of being easily swayed by material possessions or insincere flattery, emphasizing the importance of genuine connection and interest.
The chorus emphasizes the idea of being beautiful and confident in one's own skin, not swayed by others' opinions or superficial charms. There is a refusal to settle for anything less than real love, sweet love, and true love. The repeated refrain of "I don't care what they think of me" highlights a strong sense of self-worth and independence.
Ultimately, the song celebrates inner beauty, self-assurance, and the importance of genuine connections over superficial appearances. It encourages listeners to embrace their unique qualities and prioritize authentic emotions and relationships. The repetitive affirmations of "Yes we're beautiful" serve as a powerful declaration of self-love and confidence.
