八十年代曾被萬千寵愛的一顆閃亮明星，深受那一代的女孩所鍾愛，可惜英年早逝，享年三十五歲。
1958年出生的Danny，生長在一個小康之家，父親經營鐘錶店。原來Danny是一名電子琴高手，1977年參加「香港山葉電子琴比賽」，奪得冠軍，同年在無線舉辦的「香港流行歌曲創作大賽」奪得季軍，之後便簽約EMI正式加入樂壇。
1979年推出處女大碟「眼淚為你流」，Danny當年出道時鄰家男孩般健康、親切、斯文的乖仔形象，配合率直真摯的大熱歌曲「眼淚為你流」，實在深入民心，大受歡迎。
1980年推出了上一張碟的續集「不再流淚」，之後又推出了多張精彩大碟，總括79-83年的早期歲月裡，歌曲風格是相當的清新，那種典雅、健康的樂風，令人深深懷念七、八十年代初那種純樸日子，真可謂只此Danny一家。除此之外，Danny在這時期還創作了很多勵志歌曲，鼓勵年青人不要吸毒、發奮向上、公益社會、追求理想等，從而樹立了一個勵志青年的形象，這在香港歌手來說是十分罕有的。
1984-1988年可說是Danny的中期，首先推出了二張相當出色的大碟「百強84」和「深愛著你」，大熱歌曲非常之多，首首旋律悅耳動聽，這兩張碟可說是Danny一生事業的顛峰。Danny也開始嘗試唱一些強勁節拍的歌曲，形象也從以前的乖乖仔轉變成有健康身形和衣著品味的成年人。之後數張大碟都有出色表現，每張都有多首精彩作品，Danny的大碟可說是質和量的保證。
1988-1992年可說是Danny的後期，這時期作品和成績都開始回落了，大熱歌曲也沒有以往那麼多，但有些還是很有水準的，其中令人印象最深刻的可說是改編自「王傑」的「一生何求」，真摯的感情唱出了Danny一生的追求。
Danny除了唱歌外，還拍了一些電影，但數目不多，最出色的是80年的「喝采」和81年的「失業生」，兩部都是青春勵志電影，而且都是和已故的「張國榮」及也已故的「鍾保羅」合演。此外，Danny還主演了一部無線的電視劇「突破」，合演的有當年很紅、可人的莊靜兒。「突破」一劇中，Danny飾演正義、敢作敢為、勇於挑戰舊傳統的年青人和愛護家人、妹妹的好哥哥角色，令人讚賞。
值得注意的是，多年以來傳說Danny在電影「喝采」中邂逅一生中的至愛──電影中的女主角，令Danny心醉，可惜始終離他而去，令Danny傷心不己。82年旋律非常優美動人的「漣漪」便是為她而作的。
Danny多年來事業上的風光，可惜並沒有帶來內心的快樂，Danny從始到終都是一個完美主義者，對事業、理想、感情有著無限的執著。Danny不明白長江後浪推前浪的道理，一直喝望能夠成為最受歡迎男歌手，可惜八十年代想超越「譚詠麟」和「張國榮」談何容易，九十年代又遇上「四大天王」。而且Danny多年來一直懷念著昔日的初戀情人，雙重打擊下，令其沉迷喝酒，希望借酒澆愁。Danny經常會去蘭桂芳流連夜店，曾經於1988年因為醉酒鬧事而被罰款。
Danny後期明顯發福了不少，而且接受電視訪問時，表情目獨，反應也遲緩，很明顯是因為酗酒而導致神志不清。
1992年5月18日Danny突然昏迷，送入瑪麗醫院，當時很多不利傳聞，但根據醫院的可靠消息，確實是因為嚴重酗酒所致。但是Danny大腦一直未全然死亡，所以一直昏迷了一年多，直至1993年10月25日終於逝世。Danny一生唱了很多勵志歌曲，可惜鼓勵不了自己，而選擇這條不歸路，對於他的親人和樂迷都是傷心欲絕的。
回顧Danny這十多年來的歌唱生涯，創作過無數精彩作品，真可謂像天上星星一樣數之不盡，而且Danny斯文、典雅的氣質是現今男歌手所缺少的。雖然閃亮明星已經墜落了，但它曾經照亮和安慰著無數人的心靈深處，透過現代CD的出現，可以把

這是我最鍾意最鍾意的陳百強的一首歌。我認為無論曲或詞都同樣出色，旋律優美柔和，非常能平靜聽歌者的心屝。我覺得作出這首歌的你是天才，我真的覺得很好聽，也沒有甚麼比你的生命更值得珍惜更應該佔更大的比重，你是如此美好。

He is so talented
