After his win on SuperStarK, Guk's first mini album "부른다" debuted #1 on music chart the day it was revealed. The album features "부른다" (Calling You), "Young Love", and a remake of Kim Gunmo’s "아름다운 이별" (Beautiful Farewell), in which all were moving up fast on music charts. It was a feat for him because not only just a debut song, it was released at a time when other top singers were doing their comebacks. His debut has been said to be ‘daebak’ (great).

On Mnet.com itself, the 3 songs topped the top 3 spots on all charts, and on Cyworld chart, the song ‘Calling You’ has beaten LeeSsang, Baek Ji Young, SHINee and So Nyeo Shi Dae to be at the #1 position while the other 2 songs are within the top 20 positions. The song ‘Calling You’ is produced by one of Korea’s best hit maker Bang ShiHyuk, the song was especially made as the gift for the winner of SuperStar K.

His success was followed by the released of his second album, 애기야, an eight track special album, featuring tracks like "사랑해 U", "마지막 생일", "왜 웃기만해" and "Prime Time (feat. 리사)".

In 2011, Guk released "Broken", a soulful R&B Ballad, as his comeback single.
