The group officially disbanded in 2017. The group's final lineup consisted of Soa (소아), Julianne (쥴리앤), Tia (티아), and Melanie (멜라니). Jaeyoon (제윤) is the group's only former member. Korea’s first bi-racial girl group; three of the members are only half-Korean. The girls debuted with their first digital single, "신드롬 (Syndrome)", on August 17th,2011. Shortly after the release, member Jaeyoon announced that she was leaving the group due to health concerns. The group released their first mini album on December 15, 2011, with the song "I Like It" serving as the lead single. However, no music video was released for the song. The group cameback on February 9, 2012 with the release of their second single album. The song "하루만 더" was the lead single. The group's final single album was released on June 11, 2013, servicing the song "블랙팅커벨" as the lead single. The song became the group's most successful song since their debut. The group then disappeared from the public eye, leaving many to question what the group's status was. It was not until [yeardisbanded]2017[/yeardisbanded] that member Melanie announced the group's disbandment with all of the girls' contracts expiring in February of 2017.

It's 2020 and this song aged like fine wine. ChoColat was so underrated and mismanaged. Wished K-groups like them lasted longer.

reyanime not really. They got hate because Tia was 90% of their first MV and their first live performance was AWFUL. It had nothing to do with them being biracial. There’s been many biracial people successful in Korean music long before Chocolat like Yoon Mi Rae.

@Apple Pie I remember comments about them being biracial all over the place They were the 1st group to have the majority of the members not be fully Korean and their other halfs were not Asian. They were definitely getting hate for it. I do remember that yes, ppl had a problem cause Tia was the focus and I do remember hearing about their 1st performance, but them being biracial also played a part.

There's just something about 2nd gen groups like this that's so unique, their music is timeless and, even though it never got even part of the success it truly deserved, it sticks with us. Sure, it wasn't a chart success but we remember it for years to come. I like to think gems like this become "cult classics" among the fans and I think ChoColat will live on in the minds of K-Pop fans. ChoColat, Rania, 9MUSES, Spica, Brave Girls, April Kiss, Hello Venus, C-REAL, Fiestar, Melody Day and so many others. They might have not captured global attention but their music will live on. I used to worry some groups could be forgotten as time goes on but it makes me happy when new K-Pop fans know them as well. <3

I would also say they (and everyone you listed above) are 3rd gen . 1st gen surely were h.o.t, sechskies, s.e.s, finkl, shinhwa and such, 2nd are dbsk, ss501, suju, big bang, wonder girls, snsd, kara and such, and then when everything was just about being catchy and colorful is when 3rd gen started, so probably already starting from BEAST and T-ara at the end of 2009~
