She is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls that disbanded in 2017.

Yubin made her debut as a new member of the Wonder Girls on September 7, 2007 with the song Tell me. Yubin was introduced as the main rapper of the group replacing Hyuna, who left the group just before the release of Tell Me.

In 2013, she made her official acting debut in OCN's drama, The Virus, where she played the role of Lee Joo-yeong, a genius hacker and an IT specialist.

On August 17, 2015, Yubin was confirmed to join Unpretty Rapstar's second season. Her popularity exploded and as a consequence, her makeup and hairstyle became popular in South Korea.

On January 26, 2017, it was announced that Wonder Girls were to disband after their contracts had expired. Yubin was one of two members who chose to remain with JYP Entertainment as solo artists and renewed her contract. The group released their final single, Draw Me, on February 10.

Yubin's first single album, 都市女子 was released on June 5, 2018 with the retro lead single, 숙녀 (淑女). It originally suppose to have a b-side track called, City Lover, but was unreleased due to it being unable to get the copyright clearance from the original 1984 song, Plastic Love, by Japanese singer, Mariya Takeuchi.

On November 27, 2018, Yubin's 2nd single album, #TUSM was released alongside the title track Thank U Soooo Much. This EP contains 3 songs., all co-written by Yubin.

On October 30, 2018, Yubin released her third single album, Start of the End, alongside lead single, Silent Movie (Korean title: 무성영화 (Feat. 윤미래)) featuring Yoon Mi-rae

In February 2020, Yubin founded her own music label, RRR Entertainment. 3 months later, on May 2020, Yubin released her single 넵넵 (ME TIME) (English title: Yaya (Me Time)), her first released song under her own music label. She partnered up with an ongoing "traveller" music project series with releasing a brand new single called Wave on 10th December 2020.
