Is It True
(2) Yohanna Lyrics

You say you really know me
you’re not afraid to show me
what is in your eyes
So tell me about the rumors
Are they only rumors?
Are they only lies?
Falling out of a perfect dream, coming out of the blue
Is it true?
Is it over?
Did I throw it away?
Was it you?
Did you tell me you would never leave me this way?
If you really knew me
You couldn’t do this to me
You would be my friend
If one of us is lying
There’s no use in trying

No need to pretend
Falling out of a perfect dream, coming out of the blue
Is it true?
Is it over?
Did I throw it away?
Was it you?
Did you tell me you would never leave me this way?
Is it true?
Is it over?
Did I throw it away?
Was it you?
Did you tell me you would never leave me this way?
Is it real?
Did I dream it?
Will I wake from this pain
Is it true?
Is it over?

Baby did I throw it away?
Ooh, is ït true?

Overall Meaning

In Yohanna's song "Is It True," the singer addresses a person who claims to know her well and isn't afraid to tell her what they see in their eyes. However, she questions whether the rumors she's heard about them are true or just lies. She feels like she's falling out of a perfect dream and questions whether the relationship is truly over and if she was the one who ended it. She wonders if the other person truly meant it when they promised they would never leave her this way.

The lyrics are emotionally charged as the singer questions the honesty and trustworthiness of the other person. She feels hurt and betrayed by the rumors that are circulating and the uncertainty about the status of the relationship. The song's melody is upbeat and energetic, creating a contrast against the somber, melancholic lyrics. The song's catchy chorus is memorable and singable, capturing the essence of the song's message.

I am from Russia(1-st place in 2009) but i think that Yohanna's song was the best, it's still the most loved song for me of all eurovisions.
In my opinion Iceland not win because bad geographical location, while Russia have additional points due to Eugeniy Plushenko and Edvin Marton.
Yohanna should have won at this event, best eurovision song ever!

(sorry for my english)

actually she was just 18, she has been a pro since she was a child

@lorofcb3

This will go down as one of Eurovision's most impeccable vocals. I don't think people appreciate enough how on point she is, she hits all those difficult notes perfectly and seemingly with ease!
Love you Iceland, Switzerland

I remember listening to this song for ages after because I just loved how on point her voice was. I was a kid, but I fell in love with her singing that evening.
