Doctor I've got this feelin'
Deep inside of me, deep inside of me
I just can't control my feet
When I hear the beat, when I hear the beat
Hey Doctor could you give me somethin'
'Cause if you don't help me soon
Gonna lose my brain, gonna go insane
I just don't know, don't know
How I'm gonna deal with you
Doc, doc, doc, doc, Doctor Beat
I just don't know, don't know
Won't you help me Doctor Beat?

The song "Dr. Beat" by Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine is a song that speaks of a person who has an uncontrollable urge to dance whenever they hear music. They are seeking the help of Doctor Beat to help them control their urge, as it is causing them to lose control of their body and, at times, their mind. The song's protagonist asks Doctor Beat to give them something to ease the pain of their unrelenting desire to dance and to help find a cure before it becomes too much to handle.
The song portrays an individual who is struggling with an addiction to dance, much like how people can become addicted to drugs or alcohol. Doctor Beat is seen as a savior, who can help the singer overcome their addiction and regain control of their life. The song is an upbeat and lively tune that encourages people to dance, but at the same time, it speaks of the dangers of letting an addiction control one's life.

Wow...I came here after watching Griselda. .. reminds me of my late uncle...he used to play this songs when I was a little boy. He loved life and lived the best of his youth. Sadly we lost him in 2022 due to diabetes. He was 62 years old. So I bet in the 80s he was in his 20s and living the best of his youth.
