And Yet It Moves
(formerly Maryknoll) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Putting it plainly I'll do what you say
Quote me directly I'll find a way
Drowned in tears, you know I'm here
Drowned in tears, you know I hear

If you want to slow dance I can make that real
I could be your slow dance I want that to be real
We leave this town at seven, we can make it real

Leave it to me to ignore the things you said
The things before you grew the nerve to take the floor
Grew the nerve and nothing more

If you want to slow dance I can make that real
I could be your slow dance I want that to be real
We leave this town at seven, we can make it real

If you want to slow dance I can make that real

Hold my head in your hands I'd like that to be real
And you could make it real

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "(formerly Maryknoll)'s song And Yet It Moves" convey a sense of submissiveness and a willingness to comply with someone else's desires. The opening lines, "Putting it plainly I'll do what you say, Quote me directly I'll find a way," indicate a willingness to obey and conform to the expectations or demands of another person. The repetition of the phrase "Drowned in tears, you know I'm here, Drowned in tears, you know I hear" suggests a sense of emotional vulnerability and possibly a lack of agency, as if the singer is submerged in their emotions but still attentive to the other person's needs.

The next verse, "If you want to slow dance I can make that real, I could be your slow dance I want that to be real," illustrates the singer's willingness to fulfill the desires of the other person, even going as far as becoming what they want. It could signify a desire for closeness or a sense of longing for a deeper connection. The line "We leave this town at seven, we can make it real" could represent a desire to escape their current circumstances and create a new reality together.

The final lines, "Leave it to me to ignore the things you said, The things before you grew the nerve to take the floor, Grew the nerve and nothing more," suggest that the singer tends to disregard or dismiss the things the other person says, possibly due to a lack of trust or a desire to maintain control. It implies a power dynamic where the other person's opinions or actions hold little significance.

Overall, the lyrics of "And Yet It Moves" convey themes of submission, longing for connection, and a complex power dynamic between the singer and the other person.

I remember when I was 7 and I discovered the demos in the Wii shop channel. This game was SO weird to me, but actually gives me VERY MUCHS feelings of nostalgia

You guys should either port this game to a more recent console or make a sequel. It’s great!

I heard somewhere you could get it to work on Linux using Wine or something. But you're better off emulating the Wiiware version in Dolphin, since that one has the luxury of 360 rotation!

Miraglyth

@Chris Hah, I don't blame you. I'm only on this video to see how much easier free rotation makes levels like Elevator (1:14) which were added for the Wii version with the expectation of free rotation and then retrofit into the PC version that doesn't have free rotation making those levels obscenely difficult.

Chris

@Miraglyth unfortunately not ☹️

@Chris Aah, I'm guessing you didn't go for Crazy and Perfectionist then.

Chris

@Miraglyth it didn’t take all that time to play, it took me less than a week since i play an unhealthy amount of puzzle games
