True
(intheclear) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You try hiding, but now I feel
Who you are and what it is to know you
You keep whining, blaming the others
Maybe someday you'll finally see yourself

Not enough, lost my trust
I can't believe you
There's no doubt, you'll stay the same
I can't believe you
I hope you never stay the same

It keeps digging, deeper in my back
I guess I was next in line
A black and white movie memory, tucked away
Now I'm not so colorblind

Not enough, lost my trust
I can't believe you
There's no doubt, you'll stay the same
I can't believe you
I hope you never stay the same
Not enough trust, walk away
You'll stay the same

Not enough, lost my trust
I can't believe you
There's no doubt, you'll stay the same
I can't believe you
I hope you never stay the fucking same

You'll stay the same

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "True" by (intheclear) seem to be directed towards someone who the singer once trusted but has betrayed that trust in some way. The first verse suggests that the person has been trying to hide their true nature or avoid taking responsibility for their actions, but the singer has now seen through this façade and understands who they really are. The second verse hints at some kind of betrayal or hurt caused by this person, with the lyric "It keeps digging, deeper in my back."

The chorus repeats the idea that this person has lost the singer's trust and that there is little hope that they will change, but there is still a small glimmer of hope expressed in the line "I hope you never stay the same." The final line of the song, "You'll stay the same," drives this point home, suggesting that despite the singer's wishes, this person is unlikely to change their ways.

Overall, the lyrics seem to express a sense of disappointment and frustration with someone who has let the singer down, but also a desire for them to improve and perhaps regain their trust.

@nmarks

Musically, the 1980s was a truly fantastic decade.

It took some getting use to the 80's style, however your quite right, it's the very last decade of music that was really good and made a great deal of sense. After that silly, crappy rap crap too over the airwaves, music went down hill in a heartbeat. Matter of fact once that rap crap took over a lot of radio stations throughout the country changed their format to nothing but talk shows and or this silly sports talk show gig.

Glad I got to be there

@ZXLNT
