BLAZE
-OZ- Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
close the doors, close kids eyes
fundamental religious life
bible truth, false raised youth
you can't watch them all the time
you'll lose them sooner or later
waiting to be relieved
eyes will be opened
lies will be detected
with all those punishments
for no reason
bible justification
gods hate towards man
slaves of the book of beliefs
live in their lies
they can't see blaze
in our eyes
we are the ones
who hold the torch
and purge the world
with beautiful flames
clandestine blaze
-OZ-'s song BLAZE is a thought-provoking commentary on religious fundamentalism and the negative impact it has on society. The opening lines, "keep the evil world outside, close the doors, close kids eyes, fundamental religious life, bible truth, false raised youth," indicate that the singer is critical of the way that organized religion often tries to shield its followers from the outside world and impose its own narrow worldview upon them.
The next lines, "you can't watch them all the time, you'll lose them sooner or later," suggest that this approach is ultimately futile and that attempts to exert control over people's beliefs and actions are doomed to fail. The chorus, "fire burns in our heart, waiting to be relieved, eyes will be opened, lies will be detected," implies that there is a seething discontent among those who are subject to this kind of religious indoctrination and that they are eager to break free from it and see the world in a new light.
The song's critique of religion is reinforced in the later verses, which speak of "punishments for no reason" and "gods hate towards man," as well as the idea that those who follow religious texts blindly are "slaves of the book of beliefs" and "live in their lies." The final lines, "we are the ones who hold the torch and purge the world with beautiful flames, clandestine blaze," suggest that the only way to achieve true liberation is through a complete rejection of the old ways and a willingness to embrace radical change.
