Princeโs โThieves in the Templeโ is a song about betrayal and loss of trust. With the opening lines, โLove come quick, love come in a hurry / There are thieves in the temple tonight,โ Prince speaks about the suddenness of the situation, the urgency that comes with it and the sense of helplessness. The thieves in the temple are symbolic of people who have come to steal his peace of mind, his confidence, and his sense of self-worth. The lines, โThey don't care where they kick / just as long as they hurt youโ speak to the indifference of these thieves. They are not concerned about who they hurt or how much damage they cause as long as they get what they want.
Prince is in a state of despair as he sings, โI feel like I'm looking for my soul / Like a poor man looking for gold.โ He has lost something valuable that he thought he would never lose. The line, โBut even if I wanted to, I couldn't really truly 'cause my only friend is you,โ highlights the loneliness he feels and the fact that he has no one else he can rely on. He needs love to come quickly and help him through this difficult time. The song ends with a plea to love to help him be the better man, better than the thieves in the temple.

0:39 "Surround sound" tv's are great for the tamborine part which got etched into peoples childhood memories! His "Graffiti Bridge" movie was designed to give the audience a superior listening experience. Movies nowadays don't try as hard as 1990.

I think this is Princeโs BEST dance sequences ever. He was rather Olympian in his moves. Itโs no wonder his hips went. We were about the same age, I was a dancer as a young woman, and my knees and right hip are pretty torn up. I wish someone would have regulated his pain medication๐ข, because it doesnโt always work.....and adding more of the same isnโt the answer. Others can be added to give ultimate pain relief without murdering you.
Iโll always miss him.....my grandchildren now listen to me playing and singing his music.....I donโt want ANYONE to forget The Prince.๐ข
