Embraceable You
101 Strings Orchestra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Embrace me, my sweet embraceable you!
Embrace me, you irreplaceable you!

Just one look at you
My heart grew tipsy in me,
You and you alone
Bring out the gypsy in me!
I love all, the many charms about you!
Above all, I want my arms about you!

Don't be a naughty baby,

Come to papa, come to papa, do!
My sweet embraceable you!

The very best nostalgia of the 1950s generation of the old fashioned romantics.

@nipstertunes

And Many Thanks To You for watching and for leaving such a nice comment! The music and film from that era are just something to cherish. I'm afraid we will never experience the innocence and sweetness, of thing from that time, again. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Jim

Most people believe or think they know about the long lasting love affair between Bogart and Bacall based on rumor.  And, because of the many films they appeared in together, as well as their off screen friendship, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland also had a long lasting "affair." Out of all four of them, Judy is the only one I've met. I was working for Mel Torme for a brief period while he worked on her TV show as a musical consultant; he put together all of the medleys Judy performed with her guests.
Mel, as well as Debbie Reynolds had told me of the "special" relationship between Mickey and Judy. I was fortunate to be at the taping of the show that Mickey was on. They performed an incredible medley Mel had put together for them. He mentioned that he wanted this 15 minute piece of music to bring out the "emotion of the moment." That was the expression he used. And believe me, viewers at home could not feel the love from them as one in the studio watching. If I live another hundred years, nothing will top that experience.
