Marcus and Sondre are born in Sandefjord, and have always had a great passion for music. Their dream is to make singing a living, and this album is a step in the right direction. They both love to play the guitar, and have together with their producer Henning Hoel Eriksen (Gaute Ormåsen, Ann Taylor among others) composed the lyrics and music for six of the tracks on their new album. "Be yourself" is their debut CD, and the songs focus on issues that are important for the two band members, such as the environment, self confidence and concern for each other..
Tell Me Why
2Boys Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A song of love for every boy and girl
The sky is blue and fields are green
And laughter is the language of the world
Then i wake and all i see
Is a world full of people in need
Chorus:
Tell me why is there something i have missed?
Tell me why cos i don't understand
When so many need somebody
We don't give a helping hand
Tell me why?
Everyday i ask myself
What will i have to do to be a man?
Do i have to stand and fight
To prove to everybody who i am?
Is that what my life is for
To waste in a world full of war?
Chorus:
Tell me why does it have to be like this?
Tell me why is there something i have missed?
Tell me why cos i don't understand
When so many need somebody
We don't give a helping hand
Tell me why?
tell me why?
tell me why?
Chorus:
Tell me why does it have to be like this?
Tell me why is there something i have missed?
Tell me why cos i don't understand
When so many need somebody
We don't give a helping hand
Tell me why?
Tell me why
Tell me why
The lyrics of "Tell Me Why" by 2Boys paints a picture of a peaceful world where children sing a song of love and the language spoken is that of laughter. However, upon waking up, the singer finds that the reality is quite opposite. The world is in need and people are suffering, and the question "tell me why" keeps coming up, emphasizing the confusion and lack of understanding the singer has about the state of the world. The song also reflects on the personal struggle of finding one's place in the world and the purpose of life, whether it's to fight for something or to waste in a world full of war. Ultimately, the central message of the song is about the need for compassion and empathy towards those in need, as well as a reminder to ask the question "tell me why" and try to find solutions for the world's problems.
