Tity Boi AKA 2 Chainz is one half of Playaz Circle along with long time friend Dolla Boy. 2 Chainz played basketball at ASU (Alabama State University) in Montgomery, Alabama. Hailing from the Southside of Atlanta, Playaz Circle came together as a compilation in the late 90’s. They released their debut album, and shortly after that, they were introduced to radio DJ Chris Lova Lova AKA Ludacris through mutual friend Lil' Fate. Unfortunately. shortly after that, 2 Chainz was shot and Dolla was incarcerated. After hearing about their misfortune, Ludacris reached out, offering to sign them. DTP began to form, and 2 Chainz was apart of the label and signed to DTP when Dolla Boy was released.
Throughout his career, Epps received speculation that the name Tity Boi was meant to be derogatory towards women, although he repeatedly denied the accusations,in early 2011 he decided to change his stage name to 2 Chainz as he perceived it to be more "family friendly".

In "Turn Up," 2 Chainz expresses his lust for material wealth and the high life. In the first verse, he brags about his wealth and mentions that he could do this all night while likening himself to a school of fish consuming its prey. The second verse is more boastful, with the rapper claiming that he could have any woman he wants and asserting that he's better than most other rappers. He also mentions his drug use and the constant stream of money he's making.
The chorus, “I walk in then I turn up” speaks for itself. It is about how 2 Chainz enters a place and immediately livens it up. The line, “Eatin’ these rappers like a school of piranhas” means that he is feasting on other rappers, and he is not going to stop. 2 Chainz is very literal when he compares the amount of money he has to that of a school of fish.
The phrase “Shawty got a tan like she come from the Bahamas” on the other hand is a compliment to the girl that he’s with. He is comparing her skin color to that of someone from the Bahamas, and ultimately is saying she has a beautiful complexion.
