I'm a 57 year old woman. I've been married for 35 years. We had our first child in 1993 and I was planning on working full time after he was born after 3 months. My husband made more money than me and owned his own business. The main reason I was going to keep working was for the health insurance. After he was born, we both realized we couldn't do daycare. I was able to get a job working 20 hours a week and I worked nights. We had no child care expense and by the time he was 18 months old, we adjusted to less income to the point I was able to quit my part-time job. We have 4 boys in total and I was always home for them. I loved to be at home and I loved making a nice dinner for my husband. Granted, I never liked house-cleaning lol. I was the only mom in the neighborhood with kids the same age who didn't work, most worked full time. I would sometimes take part-time jobs here and there when we needed some extra $$. When my youngest two were in school full time I started my own business. Most of the work I do is from home. I've always been able to take my kids to their activities, go to their games, dad made all the games as well! I don't know how people can disagree that this is the best thing for kids.

The programming is deep all the way into the Christian man and woman and marriage … thank you for this clip, it’s so refreshing to see men willing to not only live it but speak it publicly. Lack of respect in a marriage, especially if it’s a traditional breadwinner/stay at home wife setup, will destroy a man eventually, and yet the programming is such that it teaches women to do just that, and teaches men to expect it, take it, and if they can’t, they lose half of everything and most of their time with kids.

Marriage is very hard without respect for the husband.

When she questions your decisions, makes small demeaning comments either to you or about you to others (especially in your presence), fails to give grace when the decisions you make don’t work out (let alone harping on them), re-does stuff that you do because “you didn’t do it right,” etc. those things add up and will make you blow up. It’s a miserable state to be in. These examples are specific because I’ve been through it. That’s the kind of stuff that could cause you to end up in jail, if you’re not careful.

It’s not a one way street. You have to be a respectable man striving toward godliness, too.

All in all those words spoken in the video are real. Praise God when you have peace in the home because you both know your roles.

No those parts aren't meant to be controversial. Those talking points are supposed to make sense because men see those and think "oh these guys aren't so bad, I'll check them out". Then if they get sucked down the rabbit hole they will pay to enroll in some online university where they learn nothing and the scam is complete.

The controversial stuff they say is so they get retweeted and made fun of by normal people. It works because if they are enough of an online punching bag, then they will reach every type of person on the internet. Any product online, no matter how clearly it is a scam, will have buyers if enough people see it, especially if Tate and this guy sprinkle in the non-controversial talking points like the ones about men needing respect.

I've not really watched much of Andrew's content but I get what he is about so this interview a was a nice point to start just to learn about his story and everything in one place. I mean he does come from a worldly perspective but I love that men are starting to take back the "manly men do matter" narrative. 2 or so yrs ago I stumbled upon Kevin Samuels and those guys content. I was blown away by these concepts which for the most part should be common sense and how conservative people operates. I do find value in these kinds of conversations. I may not agree with everything but one does learn Alot from them...and also getting to understand men and women roles along the way.

When I wasnt Christian, I thought things like this were so demeaning. Until I became Christian, began working and boy do I want to stop working. There's a bible translation for 1 Tim 2:12 that reads "I do not suffer a woman to teach" and the thing is... these things really are hard work and tiring.

What I’ve come to find out is marriage is the best way to produce the work of Christ in your life. So while Tate is correct the Christian design is designed to produce more internal growth it may take a life time lol…. But once you understand the alignment between marriage and Christian walk everything that Tate said goes out the window!

I had a girlfriend once whom i would cook for when she got out of work because I would get home earlier than her. Never complained at all because It was simply because I loved her and wanted her to have food after a long day of work. One day I came home from working 2 Jobs from 6am-6pm and a long train ride and she was in bed, on her phone. I literally could not believe it. I politely asked her why there wasn’t any food prepared and she got an attitude and wanted me to help we cook. I was literally exhausted and went to lay down. She was in the kitchen with an attitude and rushed the food to the point that I couldn’t even eat it. I always cook with love and there was none in what she made. She ended up starting an argument with me after a 12 hour work day…….because she couldn’t simply make sure I had food when i got home. Something she never had to ask me to do for her. That was when i realized she had 0 respect for me, not even as a human. Men, please make sure you date/marry a woman who was raised right/ by both parents and actually respects you. Out of all the crap that went on between us…That day hurt me the most. Imagine that.

In my opinion, I think it’s because they’re not emotionally invested into the bond anymore and instead of just leaving or being civil about a breakup they just purposely sabotage it all. Have to consider the age of the children as well. I'm tired when I get home but guess what my wife is tired after engaging with 2 small children all day as well. Oftentimes dinner is being cooked when I get home. Sometimes we order out. I cook here and there. Also have to consider the changes in the season of life and consider what works best for the entire home.

Now if the wife is home with no children I don't think it's unrealistic to expect dinner when you get home but that should be communicated.

@Ruslan: That book (Love & Respect) actually has some pretty DANGEROUS/HARMFUL messages in it. I’d recommend reading/listening to The Great S3x Rescue by: Sheila Wray Gregoire. She critiques the poor teachings in L&R. I can’t fully endorse EVERYTHING she says, but she makes some good points. I think your thoughts on her book would make for some GREAT content, btw!! That said, I do not discount or have a hard time believing pastors and deacons were saying the same thing way back in the day. What I think you do not appreciate is everyone isnt ready to hear the message when the message is shared. Also, if you think about it. going that far back no one really thought that was what was happening. Which just goes to show how good the propaganda is. To this day there are men who do not grasp what is going on and its mainly because they are living in a perceptual bubble that has not been popped yet.

My marriage has improved so much, from being on the verge of divorce to a very fulfilling marriage. I actually feel so much joy being a sahm/ house wife and now I home school our children as well. I appreciate the the use of the studies and I agree with their points but I think most people don’t read these things because of their complicated language and also no academic journal will 100 percent reflect real life in all of are social interactions. Point being empirical studies are only more convincing to people who al ready agree with them and not on those who are in opposition too what they say. The idea that “women who have had babies would rather be at home then work” doesn’t need empirical evidence, we all would rather be home then at work. But what I’ve observed even through my wife is that women want to spend time in a career they enjoy and having kids is not an immediate priority.

It helps for a man to be first A Man. Also to make money and be successful. be the man worthy of the respect you want. You have to be in control and on top of everything. Meticulous, sharp, high stress tolerance and in shape if possible. Also it helps to start off with setting boundaries and expectations and standards with your girlfriend, wife, children who ever. Don’t compromise your standards for anyone including yourself. Men need to know when to cut a girl off early on if they fail at respecting you. Lots of divorces where the man leaves is because they stayed with a woman they should have left at the beginning. If you are a high value man you’ll have options. I disagree with your wording " men become the sort of person who demands respect" many men do that, but have done nothing to earn it. They get upset because they make demands but no woman can respect something that's not there.

I think most women naturally show respect in tone, trust and acts of service when they see a man do things they value. Maybe men don't understand what women value?

I appreciate that you addressed the 50:50 households as well. Not all men are fair with this one. Many men think getting married is like buying a housemaid and prostitute rather than having a partnership with the goal of the good of the family. Even some Christian man.

Wow, is the criminally minded Tate listening in to our home conversations ? The stuff he said about Netflix is what I said to my family 2 years ago. I'd never heard of Mr Tate until PBD mentioned him in a very recent interview with you. So I then looked up PBD's interview with AT, but it grieved me that PBD endorsed the guy. When Tate chatted so much obvious rubbish and lies about things in the scriptures, not once did PBD pull him up on that. Obviously Tate hasn't been interviewed by a sound Christian, and perhaps no person of integrity would conduct a public discourse with him, you'd only do it in private in the hope you'd not be fed some propaganda for public consumption. Although he has been interviewed by Moslems, to whom he paid deference and was more humble, even if still foul mouthed and contemptuous of western society (equated with Christianity). Unfortunately for Tate, his father left (as I understood it) when he was barely a teenager, many of his peers were from Pakistani background and so we get the hybrid that is AT today, and he quite clearly carries the rage today. AT's character is very familiar to me, it's a shame because after his father died AT crossed a line into criminality, AT concluded life wasn't fair and that he was going to do something about it. I think he knows his father must be turning in his grave even if AT paints it otherwise. As Christians we already know that life isn't fair, but we have an Everlasting Father.

Maybe I'm wrong but I potentially see an unnecessary dichotomy here. Respect is a form of love. Both men and women desire respect and love. I'm confused about how love is being defined here if it doesn't include respect. Appreciation and acknowledgement for the things you do is not a uniquely male desire. Women also want recognition for their gifts, talents, and contributions. Most importantly for Christians, both men and women are called to embody the character Christ and yield to the Spirit, allowing his fruit to grow in you. It's not like men are called to put on some character traits of Christ, while women are called to put on others. I do acknowledge though that depending on your position in a relationship you may have to uniquely embody a certain character trait. Like a boss doesn't have to practice submission in the same way that an employee does, so that may be what is going on in Ephesians 5 with the different addresses to men and women. But ultimately as christians we're called to embody and showcase all the character traits irrespective of gender.

I have Love and Respect but haven't read it yet. And I'm still personally trying to work out these ideas in my marriage so I'm open to being wrong and corrected. This is just how I see it currently.

This makes me so grateful for my dad who taught me this as a child. He has made it so that my marriage has been successful from day 1. His 41 tenants, which he gets into in this interview, are basically (not completely) how men used to think in general years ago, especially Christian men of old, except he lacks the fear of God and humility. Now, our society is full of the worship of self and immorality. His dad was a narcissist. I wonder how much of that type of thinking has rubbed off on him?

@imran khan You claim respect for all religions? Really? It appears otherwise. There is only one way to Heaven, and that’s a scary thing to a lot of people and offensive, but it’s the truth. Because what if you’ve got it all wrong? All religions aren’t equal and accepted before God? The Bible you claim is false (yet you say Jesus is a prophet and Son of God, which is proven in the Bible), teaches that Jesus is the only way to salvation. There can only be one truth. You go to heaven or hell on that truth.

On another note, I said I wasn’t sure about his Christian beliefs. A lot of people claim they’re Christians and really don’t hold to Christian beliefs or even know what the Bible teaches. You can make a righteous judgment on a person based on the way they live. And I would say he doesn’t really live like a true Christian. His behavior, the things he says aren’t things that show he has the fruit of the Spirit. He may be a nice guy in some things, but God knows his heart and will not be fooled. Just like none of us can fool God on the day we die and answer to Him for how we lived.

Anyway, I am sick and need to rest. Never thought my meager comment would develop into this. Ha.

@Holly P well I guess you proved my point with this comment, you clearly don't know anything about Islam but you are quick to make allgations based on a few exceptions, I don't bash all Christians because of a group named crusader's who did way worse. These Extreme groups have one thing in common with people like yourself, they believe in taking things out of context and taking them to the Extreme. I mean you don't even know what jihad means, it means to strive and struggle, you did however get one thing right, jesus is the son of God and a prophet, as Muslims believe there's one god, so who is god? I think you as a Christian shouldn't force these Extreme beliefs that Islam is a barbaric religion, no wonder most people are turning away from Christianity because these views make them re-sent other religions. Where I live, the church up the rd allowed Muslims to pray in a room, we actually work together, not against each other. Why make a comment on a person's character when you haven't done any research on them, you said you are not sure on his views on Christianity just because he stated the obvious fact that muslims stay true to their teachings, you can argue not all of them but most of them do, that doesn't diminish the fact that he actually cares and respects his own religion, his just stating the good along with the bad. on pew the studies show by 2050 Islam will be the number 1 religion, his not stating falasy, his stating facts, its the fastest growing religion, no one's forcing them to turn to Islam, they are coming towards it, this isn't Islam's fault, it could be a fault in your community, views like yours are no different to a cult. Resorting to the horror stories instead of encouraging religions to co-exist. Not to mention the bible has been rewritten countless times and changed, this is an issue which I'm sure true orthodox Christians need to resolve.

@imran khan First of all, I’m not sure of his views on Christianity. He doesn’t act like one. That’s what I can say about that. Claiming to be an orthodox Christian means nothing if you’re not living your life for God’s glory. And he clearly lives his life for himself, though he has somewhat Christian values in relation to hard work and standing up for your family and caring for their needs.

As far as Muslims go and respecting other religions, that’s a debate. From past jihads to ISIS, you have Muslims wanting to eradicate all opposers. There are people who become Christians and are persecuted and shunned by their Muslim family and friends. That’s not “respectful.” Maybe you disagree with that. I don’t know. I have no time for a big debate on here over that.

The truth is the truth, and JESUS, who was not only a prophet but the Son of God, came to this earth, and He said He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father but by Him. He claimed to be more than a prophet and He proved it. Rejecting Him is rejecting the God who created you, and embracing idolatry.

For me honesty is really the only way to get my respect. That and respecting me too. You can f**** up over and over and still have my complete respect but start laying to me and it's a rap. Btw Tate is both right and wrong about women. He is right because he does get countless women flocking towards him with all the characteristics he speaks about. I just wish he meets a woman one day that is actual wife material and wouldn't want to share him with all these other women.
