Nah you're just reading too much into it, this performance is from 1998 or 1999 the video might have been recorded during this period but it didn't turn into a criminal case until 2002... people in general had not seen it and was completely unaware of it at the time. The people editing it together probably thought she had less charisma and energy than the rest so they put the focus on them instead.
