Future
4everfreebrony Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Something tells me my life is about to change
Like I'm never going back
And I feel as if nothing will be the same
As if everything goes black
Call me out if it seems like I'm paranoid
Well, it extends beyond the eye
There's so much fear inside
(what are the odds)
What are the odds that I would find myself where I began?
(what are the odds)
How high is the chance of running 'round in circles now and then?
(what are the odds)
Maybe it's all in my mind, but it's about time I read the signs
Oh, it's about time!
It's about time!

What if all that I do is insignificant?
What if nothing matters now?
I would take back the time wasted if I could
But I don't even know how
All my worries have lead me to emptiness
But at least I've been around
At least it's over now

(what are the odds)
What are the odds that I would find myself where I began?
(what are the odds)
How high is the chance of running 'round in circles now and then?
(what are the odds)
Maybe it's all in my mind, but it's about time I read the signs

Oh, it's about time!
It's about time!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Future" by 4everfreebrony revolve around the feeling that life is about to change dramatically and the uncertainty that comes with it. The singer acknowledges the fear and paranoia he feels, as if something bad is about to happen. He questions the significance of his actions and wonders if nothing he does really matters. Despite this, he looks back on his experiences and appreciates that at least he has been around and that the uncertainty is finally over.

The chorus of the song repeatedly asks "What are the odds?" referring to the probability of ending up in the same place after running around in circles. This represents the frustration of feeling stuck in life, unable to make progress, and the fear of being caught in a cycle of monotony. The singer also recognizes the need to read the signs and pay attention to the present moment before time runs out.

Overall, the lyrics of "Future" explore the emotions of uncertainty, fear, and frustration that come with major life changes. The singer acknowledges these feelings while also recognizing the importance of being present and appreciating the moments that make up one's life.

I don't care about an upvote or whatever, but I just wanted to share with you how I'm thankful that you made this song.

Most artists or musicians in this fandom don't realize how much their creativity influences those around them, or impresses on others to do more. I used to be a Brony artist who got slightly popular, but I've fallen out of doing it because my art just choked itself to death. I also have a friend who has faced the same thing. Today, he told me that he was going to throw all of his save/root files of his artwork away forever and start over completely again because he couldn't face the weight of it all on his shoulders. The quality of his art felt like something he couldn't live up to anymore. I argued with him to not do this, as it would be like throwing parts of himself away forever. Finally, after hours of trying, I finally got him to reconsider.

All while listening to this song.

The lyrics you wrote feels almost like it's singing about the difficulties and hardships we've both shared in our art within this fandom. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like what I did was insignificant, and that it didn't matter. How I'd love to take back the time I wasted worrying about everything, and use it to make more art for people to share in. I can't.

But today, when I was listening to this song and helping a friend of my own, I found myself drawing again like I did when I first joined this fandom. You don't know what that means to me.

To borrow your lyrics at the risk of sounding cliched and corny, "what are the odds that I would find myself where I began?"

Maybe I'm just embarrassing myself, but I wanted to share. Thank you so much.

Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it
Lying upside down;

When you finally find it
You'll see how it's faded
The underside is lighter
When you turn it around;

Everything stays
Right where you left it
Everything stays
But it still changes;

Ever so slightly
Daily and nightly
In little ways
When everything stays.

@plazmikpond

I was also 16 around the time you made your comment too. We're 20 now (at least I am, dunno if ur 19 or 20 at the time of me making this reply). I was feeling the same thing that u did back then, that same fear. But now, We're both grown ups doing adult stuff and working. From boys to Men/girls to Women (idk ur gender). At least we got bittersweet memories of the time we were fans of MLP and the fandoms music that can take us back in time to those simpler days like a time machine. We just gotta keep moving, keep your head up.

Boutta do something ancient here in March 2023 but... Brohoof /)

@HalflingPony

Adam Ulrich  "acoustic or acoustical (əˈkuːstɪk)
—adj
1.  of or related to sound, [...]
3.  (of a musical instrument or recording) without electronic amplification: an acoustic bass; an acoustic guitar "

"electric guitar —n
[...] an electronically amplified guitar, used mainly in pop music"
(from the World English Dictionary)

I understood what he was trying to say, but it's still, by definition, a misuse of the term.

It's amazing to hear that my music has reignited a passion of yours. Usually I hear that it made someone cry, or maybe it made them smile, but this is awesome. Good luck with your artistic ambitions! I hope you and your friend can continue to make art like you used to. :)
