In 2003 they were chosen to represent Taiwan at the International Asian Song Festival and took the first place. The first victory for Taiwan in the festival.
They are hugely popular throughout South East Asia. Not only in Chinese speaking countries but also in Indonesia and Malaysia.
The current members are Zax Wang, Jason Hsu, Sam Wang and Tony Sun. The fifth member Rio Peng is currently not involved in any of the band's activities due to a back injury. 5566 have appeared in three idol dramas: My MVP Valentine (MVP Qing Ren), Westside Story (Xi Jia Shao Nian) and Mr. Fighting (Ge Dou Tian Wang).
