How could she be loyal when she love me for my sweater
Dedicated cheat (yeah, yeah, yeah), maybe I'm just spoiled
Clucking in my coupe, birds is clapping like anoya
Cake
Took her on a double date (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Girl, you know it ain't your birthday
Too much sauce up on my plate
I be floating in that foreign
I finesse for my filet (throw-throwing me the cake)
Took her on a double date
Girl, you know it ain't your birthday
But you throwing me the cake (throwing me the cake)
Too much sauce up on my plate (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I be floating in that foreign
I finesse for my filet (throwing me the cake)
Double cup gon' hold me up, I pray that I don't spill (woo)
Chopper on my partner, you know he be trained to kill (pew, pew)
Pull up to the club with 20 racks in dollar bills
She go down the pole, Glamboy paying all her bills (throwing me the cake)
She gone make some shake, money she gone rake (then what?)
Balling like McGrady, finessing every play (woo)
Pull up to the Ace (and then what?) Order up the Spades
Pull out in the Range (skrrt), she sliding to my place (throwing me the cake)
Piece together my whole night, God damn, that shit was real
throwing all these bands, molly rock all in my pill
Shawty focused, gonna get it, finna make a couple mill (yeah, yeah, yeah)
She be twerking on a nigga like he about to sign a deal (throwing me the cake)
Standards come in doubles, that goes on forever
How could she be loyal when she love me for my sweater
Dedicated cheat (yeah, yeah, yeah), maybe I'm just spoiled

Story up, we know it's not exotic (not exotic, yeah)
Story up, my nigga how about it?
I don't bring no sand to the beach
Fall in love when I'm rolling off a bean
I'm from the streets, but your man industry (yeah, yeah, yeah)
You mad at me 'cause your man isn't me (throwing me the cake)
Yeah, my soul done turned to black (soul done turned)
This the second Audi that I crashed (second Audi)
The concept of your ass I try to grasp (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'm just keep on swiping 'til its maxed (yeah, yeah, yeah)

In "Cake," 88GLAM delves into a luxurious lifestyle, focusing on the pleasures of wealth, fame, and women. The chorus "took her on a double date, girl, you know it ain't your birthday but you're throwing me the cake" sets the tone for the song as the rapper flaunts his wealth and the attention that it brings. He claims to be living a life free of standards and expectations, and this freedom is reflected in the repetition of the line "standards come in doubles, that goes on forever." He also asserts his disdain for loyalty, arguing that a woman cannot be loyal if she is only with him for his sweater.
Throughout the song, he continues to describe his lavish lifestyle- partying with dollar bills, driving fancy cars, and dining on filet mignon. He even boasts that he is switching between different luxury cars- a coupe and a Range Rover. As the chorus repeats, it becomes clear that "cake" is being used as a metaphor for not just literal cake, but for money, attention, and adoration from women.
The song incorporates various hip-hop elements, including a trap beat, autotune, and sharp lyrics. The chorus is catchy and anthemic, with the repetition of "throwing me the cake" ensuring it remains a memorable hook. Overall, "Cake" reflects the ostentatious and indulgent lifestyle 88GLAM lives and the pleasures that money and fame bring.
