But you're more like a ride or lie chick
Try to lie to me? Try to lie to duke
Try to get him shot? Or the guy to shoots?
Either way the outcome is ugly
When you got two guys and you try to live lovely
Like rugby, that game is foreign
So you ended up with none, and lost both, you starving
And lost both, the bone and the reflection, gone man
You had a good thing, a real good nigga
A man on a job, but still a hood nigga
Still I would figure, you would recognize
I was wrong, you was feeling strong disrespecting guys
Shawty bug, need pesticide
Mary J. Blige, real love you should exercise
Is it me or is it him?
Is it ours or is it yours?
See, ya mindβs still locked behind bars
You wanna roll with him or roll with a star?
You playing high school games, thatβs ping pong
Game over, thatβs why you notice everything gone
Pain over, any image you had in your head
Of me and you out chilling, that shitβs dead
Rigor mortis, you was feeling good like a baller
βTill you woke up in the morning feeling all this, like what you call this?
Itβs called getting played, itβs called getting caught
You know, the same shit they say when you get in court
Mama, I thought you was support, meanwhile, I was just around
Not for support, a bus down?
What the fuck is that? Take the bus back
And donβt think of coming back, nah she with us now
She could feel the perks in my pain
And she could feel the worth of my game, itβs all the same
Either way you lost one like Jane
And feel that like the drums by Ye, have a nice day
Is it me or is it him?
Is it ours or is it yours?
See, ya mindβs still locked behind bars
You wanna roll with him or roll with a star?
You tried to play me
You fucked around and played yourself, you played yourself
Iβmma keep it a hundred
Look ma, you fronted, now I donβt even want it
Is it me or is it him?
Is it ours or is it yours?
See, ya mindβs still locked behind bars
You wanna roll with him or roll with a star?
The lyrics to 9th Wonder & Buckshot's song The Feeling describe a woman who claims to be loyal to her man, but in reality is a liar and a manipulator. The chorus asks whether the problem is with the man or the woman and whether the relationship is a shared responsibility or solely the woman's responsibility. The verse describes how the woman's lies and manipulation lead to the destruction of the relationship and the loss of both men. The metaphor of rugby illustrates the chaos and ugliness of the situation, in which the woman is left starving and alone. The verse concludes with a warning to the woman: she needs to let go of her games and learn to exercise real love before it's too late.
The chorus repeats the same question, suggesting that the woman is stuck in her own mental prison and needs to make a decision between her present lover or someone with a greater status. The second verse addresses the woman directly, accusing her of playing games and then getting played herself. The consequence of her actions is a relationship that is dead and gone. The final line suggests that the woman was never really worth pursuing in the first place.
Overall, 9th Wonder & Buckshot's The Feeling is a cautionary tale about the dangers of lying and manipulation in relationships. The song highlights how these behaviors can lead to the loss of love and respect for both parties involved.
