SAME PROBLEMS
A$AP Rocky Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How many problems get solved?
How many problems get solved?
How many problems get solved?
Mmm, nah (ah)

Niggas dyin' every other night (solved)
Niggas cryin', that's a part of life
Lyin' to my face (solved), tryna say that it's all good (ooh)
Knowin' nothin' right (shit don't, shit, ooh, shit don't, ah)
Put your five fingers high, to the sky
On the stand, put it on your life
Stand by a nigga, wrong or right
Not new to drama, nigga, all my life
Not new to trauma, nigga, all my life (ooh)
Been duckin' karma, nigga, all my life (shit don't, ah, shit, ooh, shit don't)

How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of things that I saw?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of things in my songs?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of all of my flaws?
How many problems get solved (ooh)
If we don't get involved?

Don't bite the hand that feed you
I don't hear or see no evil
Dilatin' like my pupils
Means I already peeped you
Annihilated all my people (ah)
Violated, 'til we tower like we skyscrapers (shit don't)
Jumpin' off the porch or fire escape (shit)
We ain't even fuck a tie breaker (ooh, shit don't)
All black like we tryna break it
This that crack, call him Ronald Reagan
A$AP mode, I'm tired of waitin' (let's get it)

How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of things that I saw?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of things in my songs?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of all of my flaws?
How many problems get solved (ooh)
If we don't get involved?

Silent night, holy night
Bullets flyin', better duck and dive (phew, phew, phew, phew, phew, phew)
The darkest spaces were so fun to hide
'Member callin' daddy, said, "Turn on the lights" (ah)
Went from sellin' out shows to sellin' white
Niggas cryin' in they jail cell at night (shit don't)
Mommas cryin', it's a part of life (shit)
Momma say I'm high as satellite (ooh, shit don't)
I won't drop the bag even when I'm breakin' nice
Nigga, drop the bag, you ain't weigh it right
Breakin' bad I was breakin' night, Kid Cudi, "Day'N Nite"

How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of things that I saw?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh, ooh)
Am I a product of things in my songs?
How many problems get solved? (Ooh)
Am I a product of all of my flaws?
How many problems get solved (ooh, ooh)
If we don't get involved?

Goin' down, I'm goin' down, goin' down, I'm goin' down

Goin' down, I'm goin' down, goin' down, I'm goin' down
Goin' down, goin' down, goin' down, goin' down

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Same Problems" by A$AP Rocky delve into some of the issues that he has been grappling with, both in his personal life and in his career as a musician. He opens by asking, "How many problems get solved?" In many ways, this question sets the stage for the rest of the song, as Rocky goes on to explore a variety of problems and challenges that he has faced.

One of the most notable themes of the song is violence and death. Rocky references "niggas dyin' every other night" and the fact that he's "not new to trauma." He also acknowledges that he's been "duckin' karma" all his life, suggesting that he knows that he's made mistakes and that there may be consequences. At the same time, however, he seems to suggest that he's ready to face whatever comes his way, as he urges his listeners to put their "five fingers high, to the sky."

Another key aspect of "Same Problems" is the idea that Rocky is a product of his surroundings and experiences. He asks whether he's a "product of things that I saw" and whether he's a "product of all of my flaws." This speaks to a sense of self-awareness and introspection on Rocky's part, as he tries to make sense of who he is and how he got there.

jeremy, an odd fuckinʼ extrovert.

I swear the start of the song sounds like a Thundercat type of bassline. A$AP Rocky never misses, he always delivers fr. Just looked at the credits, and the fact that Miguel, Tyler The Creator, Rocky, Thundercat and Lil Yachty are credited is insane, so excited for the album.

It is thundercat but who else thought of Toro y Moi
