1) A.K. is one third of the rap trio Do or Die, from Chicaco, Illinois.
2) AK is a pop/R&B singer born and raised within the suburb of Maplewood, NJ. She began focusing on her singing career at the tender age of 12 after receiving the tragic news that her dad was diagnosed with cancer. Singing and listening to music countless hours of the day helped relieve her from the stress of her father's medical situation. During the last stages of his illness, AK serenaded her father with Mariah Carey's "Butterfly." It was his admiration towards her vocal talent that led her to continue the singing path as a way to help others get through their everyday struggles.
In the 8th grade, AK formed a group, Sweet, and wrote her first song, Just Look. Branching off before high school, she hit the studio to record her first original solo song, Dreamin, at the age of 14. A.K. finally realized how powerful her singing was while attending Columbia High School, alma Mata of Lauryn Hill. While at Columbia High School, she joined the MLK Gospel Choir and was chosen as the lead vocalist although she was the only white member. Despite being one of the few choir members who were not of color, there was never a racial barrier between A.K. and the rest of the choir. While there, she was accepted by everyone despite race, gender, age due to her vocal capability.
Her musical influences are Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin. People have already compared A.K. to a younger version of Christina Aguilera with her powerful voice. A.K. is determined to achieve any goal. She is always up for a challenge and proves that she has true determination. From putting in 12 hours a day in the studio, she proves that hard work pays off. In 2007, A.K. won first place in the R&B genre at "Faces in the Crowd" in New York City.
From singing her heart to the world to expressing herself through her dance moves, A.K. is a well-rounded performer with a true essence of Pop with a strong undeniable R&B sound.

Man I feel good right now
Back in the H-Y-D, ayy
Man I feel good right now
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good, ayy
Fuck a significant other, 'cause I make significant figures
(Significant figures my guy!)
One day I know that for sure I'ma be a significant figure
(Significant figure that guy!)
Been carrying bags, it's hurting my hands
Now I need some ice on my fingers
You need to relax, you give up too fast
You're either a quitter or winner
4:00 a.m, my father would wake up to head to the well to get family the water
4:00 a.m., I'm in New York with the boys and we bringing out women the bottles
24, my mother was married and thinking 'bout having a kid and a house
24, I don't even know what her name is but I got my hands up her blouse
Damn, the life that I'm living
I'm young and I'm making a killing, I don't see a ceiling
Once I get popping, I don't see no stopping
Man I'm talking millions and millions
My father, he grew up in pain and in poverty
People still owe him apologies
I do it for him, 'cause he makes it too when I make it
And that mean a lot to me!
Good right now
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good
Man I feel good right now
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good
So gimme a solo and pass me the Henny
Father to none but a daddy to many
All in your feelings like TrapMoneyBenny
Building foundations, I'm not talking Fenty
We talking financials? Then I'm talking plenty
Y'all just don't get me
I respect and honor my family too much
To waste my life away to molly or Xanny
My forefathers came from a village, now I got a place in the Village
What an incredible feeling
Immigrant children, we make it a mission to make sure we don't waste our privilege
Look at the way that I'm living my life
You planned it before I was even alive
So many things that I got to try
You gave me wings, now I gotta' fly
Never had money to cop me the Jordans I wanted, we couldn't afford it
My mama told me that it wasn't important
And if I stayed working, I'd get it she promised
So we compromised on buying quality, used to cop shit at the Dollar Tree
I just bought her a bag, I paid it in cash, she drippin' in class
And that mean a lot to me!
Good right now
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good
Man I feel good right now
Left New York for a bit, took it back to the hood right now
Got two people to thank and I think that I should right now
So praise my mom and dad, they the reason I'm good right now
They the reason I'm good
In these lyrics, A.K. expresses his current sense of happiness and contentment. He reflects on returning to his hometown, the H-Y-D (possibly a reference to his childhood neighborhood) and acknowledges two people who have played a significant role in his well-being, his mom and dad. He credits them for his current state of goodness and implies that their love and support have shaped him into the person he is today. A.K. feels grateful and wants to praise his parents for the positive impact they have had on his life.
He then shifts the focus to his ambitions and career aspirations. A.K. asserts that making significant financial success is more important to him than being in a significant relationship. He believes that one day he will become a significant figure through his hard work and dedication. He acknowledges the sacrifices he has made by carrying bags and hopes that his success will bring him the material wealth symbolized by ice on his fingers. A.K. encourages others not to give up easily and suggests that the difference between being a quitter or a winner lies in perseverance.
A.K. contrasts his current life with that of his father's past. He shares the story of his father waking up at 4:00 a.m. to fetch water for his family, highlighting the poverty and hardship his father endured. In contrast, A.K. finds himself in New York, enjoying the nightlife and offering bottles of alcohol to women. He acknowledges the juxtaposition of their lives and expresses gratitude for his father's sacrifices. A.K. feels motivated to succeed in his career because it means a lot to his father too.
In the final verse, A.K. showcases his lyrical prowess and self-confidence. He demands a solo and a bottle of Henny (Hennessy cognac) and asserts that while he may not have biological children, he feels a responsibility to those around him. A.K. mentions TrapMoneyBenny, possibly a reference to a producer, indicating that he may be influenced by trap music and its emotional intensity. He speaks about building a strong foundation, both in terms of personal relationships and personal finance, and takes pride in his immigrant background. A.K. explains that he and fellow immigrant children strive to make the most of their opportunities and not waste their privileges. He concludes by expressing gratitude for his parents' guidance and mentions his mother's teaching of prioritizing quality over material possessions. A.K. now has the means to buy luxury products for his mom, and seeing her enjoy them means a lot to him. Overall, these lyrics celebrate family, hard work, gratitude, and the pursuit of success.
