I'll make it worth your wild, just let me taste the sky
You pressed your mouth on mine and got me a star
And said we never, can truly, know who we are
Know who we are
With the lights out and the night inside
I felt myself falling, I confessed to you
I saw a body, you said you'd see us through
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you might abandon
Now's the time
We'll finally pass the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
The gun
Keep the top down, use your knees to drive
I'll hide these words, there only yours to find
You pressed your mouth on mine and said they'd call the stars
They said we never, can truly, know who we are
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you might abandon
Now's the time
We'll finally pass the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
Everything was burning bright
Everyone was frightened
You said, "Stay Strong"
Everybody knowing that what we invited
Still remains when we're gone
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you might abandon
Now's the time
We'll finally pass the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
Oh
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you might abandon
Now's the time
We'll finally pass the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
The gun
I'll bring the gun, oh
The song "End Transmission" by AFI is a track that deals with the themes of uncertainty and impermanence. The lyrics begin with the singer addressing someone, and suggesting that they take a drive together, with the implication that they will pursue something reckless and exciting. The singer promises to make it "worth your wild" and implores the other person to let them "taste the sky."
As the night progresses, their actions become increasingly dangerous and unpredictable. The reference to a "broken radio playing suicide" suggests a feeling of despair and hopelessness, and the confession of seeing a body adds to the sense of risk and danger. However, the singer in the song seems to believe that this is a moment of possibility and that they should take advantage of it. The repeated line, "This night has only just begun," underscores the idea that there is potential for something great to happen.
The chorus of "End Transmission" focuses on the idea that nobody can truly know who they are or what they are capable of. The person the singer is addressing presses their mouth to the singer's and says that they will "call the stars," suggesting an attempt to connect with something greater than themselves. This sentiment is echoed in the second chorus, with the line, "You said, 'Stay strong'/ Everybody knowing that what we invited/ Still remains when we're gone."
Overall, "End Transmission" is a song about living in the moment and taking risks, even in the face of uncertainty and potential disaster. The lyrics suggest that by seizing the opportunity to do something bold and exciting, we can connect with ourselves and with others in meaningful ways.
