Danger
AHI Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Timothy was left on Adelaide to lay there cold in his own blood
Shadows fall down endless alleyway
A fiendish pain where bullets struck
Ricochet laws, innocence don't shield your skin, protect your fragile bones
Single teardrop gazing into dusk as he looked up and he cried

I feel danger
Hear me calling
Be my savior, Lord
Hear me calling
I'm afraid here
Night is falling
Don't let me die alone
I feel danger

Lift my breath, my heart, my soul
Lift my breath, my heart, my soul

Evelyn stood by the window pane, it's more than strange he won't pick up
Her archangel the only male who stuck 'round long enough for her to love
Stomach turning, pacing through the dark, the dinner on the table cold
Fighting teardrops, mama's intuition fighting back as she cried

I feel danger
Hear me calling
Be my savior, Lord
Hear me calling
I'm afraid here
Night is falling
Don't let me die alone
I feel danger

Lift my breath, my heart, my soul
Lift my breath, my heart, my soul

Oh, I feel lost, Lord
Don't let it end
Hear me when I cry out

I feel danger
Hear me calling
Be my savior, Lord
Hear me calling
I'm afraid here
Night is falling
Don't let me die alone
I feel danger

Lift my breath, my heart, my soul
Lift my breath, my heart, my soul

I feel danger
Hear me calling
Be my savior, Lord
Hear me calling
I'm afraid here
Night is falling

Don't let me die alone
I feel danger

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of AHI's song "Danger" paint a bleak picture of violence and fear. The first verse introduces Timothy, who has been left to die on Adelaide Street, his blood pooling around him. The shadows cast by the surrounding buildings create a foreboding atmosphere, and the pain of the bullets that struck him is described as fiendish. The line about innocence not shielding one's skin speaks to the senseless nature of the violence in the scene. When Timothy looks up, he sheds a single tear and cries out that he feels danger.

The second verse introduces Evelyn, who is pacing in the dark as she waits for her partner to return home. He is highlighted as the only male who has stayed with her long enough to love, making his absence even more painful. The dinner she has prepared for him is now cold, and she fights back tears as her intuition tells her something is wrong. Like Timothy in the first verse, she cries out that she feels danger.

The chorus is repetitive and urgent, almost like a prayer. The singer begs for a savior to hear their calls for help, as night falls and the danger looms. The final few lines, "Lift my breath, my heart, my soul" evoke a sense of desperation and the need for salvation.

Overall, the song Danger highlights the very real fear and violence that exists in our society. The scenarios presented in the lyrics are unfortunately all too common, with innocent people being caught in the crossfire of senseless violence. The urgency and repetition in the chorus drives home the message that in moments of danger, we need help and salvation to lift us up.

When I first discovered God, I was scared of the mountains with no side railing that we were driving on. I was 3 and I begged my deceased Grandmother that I never met to protect me. Then, again the next time I was afraid I did it again. I didnt even know her name. I find this to be God now that I look back. No one taught me to pray, it just happened. And its amazing I looked within myself and to my creator at such a young age because I was told to trust and I'd be safe. Now, I'm 43. Prayer is the the first thing I do naturally. Until my Grandchild was killed 5 years ago, and I lost myself to my mind. Please God keep giving me music that makes me feel and end my numbness. Let Ahi know that he is more than an artist. He is one of your soldiers. I hope you Lead him to a good space. And by your grace, I find myself back in church and feel you within me, again. Let this be my year, so I may continue the journey you lead me to begin. Too much space pressing on my chest makes it hard to breath without you God. Maybe i should delete this comment. that takes sagacity and I'm not sure if I have it anymore.

My name is Timothy and my wife was just diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. It is a very very evil cancer. I heard this song on the way to the hospital and it hit me like ton of bricks. I feel danger too. My wife Patty is a fighter but I'm so scared for her. I feel danger... it is real and this song is incredible. It brings out the religious side of me, which I admit is weak. So give me strength my lord. Shield my beautiful wife from the danger. I feel danger...
