The band's concept revolved around creating music inspired by mental disorder themes, aiming to express both the negative and hopeful aspects of the human mind. The name "ALSDEAD" was chosen with the meaning "all is dead," symbolizing the inevitability of death while acknowledging the continuous cycle of life and rebirth.
Maki has said that he loved 80s hard rock since his teenage years, finding inspiration in Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica and Megadeth.
On January 28, 2009, they released a debut single, "Violent of Reason", and just month later, February 25, the second single, "S.a.g.A.". Earlier than what they might have expected, they were asked to perform overseas within six months of forming the band. On May 29, 2009 ALSDEAD played as an opening act for Camino at the A-KON anime convent in Dallas, Texas. ALSDEAD later performed at Anime Vegas alongside Satsuki (砂月)on September 5-7, 2009. At first a different band was scheduled to perform at A-kon but they canceled due to fears of H1N1 (swine flu).
ALSDEAD continued their momentum with the release of their third single, "PARADOX," in October 2009, exploring themes of loneliness and isolation in the human psyche. Subsequent releases included the singles "Distrust" in January 2010 and their first studio album "ALSDEAD" in June 2010.
They distributed the single "FRAGILE" at the live performance held on October 20, 2010. They held their first live in Europe, and played at Tsukicon in Helsinki, Finland on November 14, 2010. The single "Into The Void" was released on April 13, 2011.
Forming bassist Reito (玲人) decided to leave the band after their third oneman played on August 12, 2011. The new bassist Yosuke (陽佑) joined on November 1.
The mini-album "MODALITY" was released on February 29, 2012. On June 27, 2012, ALSDEAD was featured on the collection "CRUSH! 3 -90's V-Rock best hit cover LOVE songs-" with their cover of SEX MACHINEGUNS song "illusion city".
They released the single "FLASH BACK" on July 11, 2012.
They released the single "Puzzle" on November 7, 2012.
They released their second album "Separator" on April 24, 2013.
They released the single "DIRTY EVIL" on August 21, 2013.
They released the single "EVIL BEAUTY" on September 25, 2013.
On December 22, 2013, they released the split cd where MAKI made a cover of the Nocturnal Bloodlust track "V.I.P" and their vocalist Hiro made a cover of ALSDEAD's "Puzzle".
However, as with many bands, ALSDEAD experienced challenges and transformations. Drummer Setsua (刹亜) decided to leave the band in January 2014, and the new drummer Nikky from GALEYD joined in May of the same year.
Their next single "STARLESS" was released on June 4, 2014.
Their third full album "IDEA" was released on October 8, 2014.
The next single "INAZUMA" was released on March 11, 2015.
On October 9, 2015, ALSDEAD announced that they had disbanded. A few days later, on October 16, they released the live recording and documentary dvd titled "BORN TO BE DEAD".
In April 2017, the band resurrected as "AllS" and transitioned to a non-visual band, aiming to explore a more unrestricted musical direction. The members wanted to break free from the conventions of visual kei, focusing on instinct and wildness in their sound and lyrics. As AllS, they released the single "DO OR DIE" in November 2017.
On February 24, 2020, AllS broke over a year of silence to announce that they’ve decided to disband. The statement reveals that AllS, previously known as ALSDEAD, went on an unannounced hiatus, however, they came to the decision that it would be hard for them to continue musical activities and chose to, unfortunately, disband. Bassist YOSKUE explained on Twitter that the his father's death in 2015 had a huge impact on him, and he felt that it would be hard to come back to playing in a band. He tried to come back with AllS, but Yosuke lacked the will and motivation to play anymore, and announced that AllS would be his last band.
