@Timo425 I'd define free will as the entropy output of a system that is primarily determined by its own structure. The output of a computer program is causally determined by the design specifications it is supposed to meet, though "bugs" might provide an (extremely minuscule) measure of "free will". A human being might be partially shaped by the culture surrounding them (pre-determining significant parts of their entropy output), though big parts of what we do are not causally determined by any external force.
Of course this definition runs into the problem determining the "primary cause" of an event: like with the question whether the Alice, the bullet she shot, her society or the weapon manufacturer killed bob, there is no immediately obvious compact objective measure of what the "primary cause" of an event is.
Like with other macroscopic concepts like emergence or levels of structure, the answers seem relatively clear to us (obviously, she shot bob, and I wrote these letters, instead of them being a "direct consequence" of the initial conditions of the universe), but these distinctions seem at least partially dependent on the mind architecture of the observer.
In any case, the important part seems to be that the measure of "free will" is associated with the system/algorithm having it being the "primary cause" of a high entropy output ("choices", from what you eat at breakfast over whether or not I *format* my **text**, to whether or not Alice shoots Bob). Of course the actions of a human being are causally determined by all the chaotic interactions with his environment, but it is still hard to imagine any mind that would assign "primary agency" to the gust of wind I encountered last week, even though its absence might have changed "my" decision.
Another difficulty of this very general definition is defining what a system is - after all, one could in theory assign "systemhood" to parts of a persons brain. But since persons are typically highly self-referential algorithms, their own definition of identity causes a functional distinction to become apparent that creates a "natural" systemic boundary (again, not necessarily to all possible minds, but even completely non-human optimizers should recognize this structure).
While this "definition" is probably far from being philosophically foolproof, I think it captures and generalizes our intuition about "free will" (the referent of these words) quite well, and seems to be useful in practice (eg. dealing with hypothetical ethical issues in policy decisions), though it still leaves the question whether or not a humanlike entity engineered (or perhaps just selected?) to react in a certain way should be considered as having "free will"/"primary agency" over his actions - a problem inherited from the uncertainty with the more general "primary cause" (causal attribution) problem.

That being said she has a few facts just plain wrong. There is no correlation between CO2 and rising sea levels and certainly not a cause and effect. Sea levels have been rising for 12,000 years following the end of the the last ice age. Most of that time CO2 were falling not rising. Only about a century of significant CO2 increase but sea levels not accelerating and the oceans are not turning into acid.
I wonder what she would say today about lockdowns and mask mandates being scientific. How would she defend a zero case/zero death requirement as being scientific or even being realistic?
She is a wonderful human being but she is not perfect as none of us are.
