The lyrics of ARK STORM's song Promised Land speak of various themes that are prevalent in science fiction and anime. The first verse talks about different characters that could be taken from various stories. The first line talks about somebody vomiting in the hands of another person. This imagery is reminiscent of somebody who is controlled, oppressed, and feels powerless. The next line talks about a character named Chloe, who is covered in scars, and the following line talks about a hermaphrodite goddess, who is a symbol of otherness and unconventional beliefs. The last line of the verse talks about a replicant who does not know love, which signifies the desolation and bleakness of a world where androids are created but are not capable of emotions.

The second verse talks about a sister who floats in the Dead Sea, a reference to a character who has been cast aside by society or the world. The next line talks about a mermaid who has been thrown away, again evoking a sense of abandonment and isolation. The chorus of the song talks about possession; the idea of belonging to somebody else entirely, and knowing that that person belongs to you. The song ends with a reference to a promised land, a place that the two people in the song promised to meet at some point. However, the promise has been broken, and all they are left with are the memories of their shattered dreams.
