AWOLNATION Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You can call a taxi
I can ride a bike
Bazooka tube on my shoulder
It's getting colder
I need to hold her
Stop!
And kiss the sky and touch your knees
The radio is killing America
Can you feel the hysteria
Motherfucka are you listening to me
Motherfucka are you moving to the beat
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka play it on the radio
Motherfucka I will see you at the show
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
When I run through the world
With my dick in hand
When I punch you in the face
With the bass and a plan
You will never be quite the same
'Cause it's AWOL!
You can say my name
You were upside down
You were backside up
With the windows down
When the lightening struck
The great depression of the airwaves
So kill the suit and the DJ!
Motherfucka are you listening to me
Motherfucka are you moving to the beat
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka play it on the radio
Motherfucka I will see you at the show
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka are you listening to me
Motherfucka are you moving to the beat
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka play it on the radio
Motherfucka I will see you at the show
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka are you listening to me
Motherfucka are you moving to the beat
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Motherfucka play it on the radio
Motherfucka I will see you at the show
Motherfucka time to take it to the streets
Yeah, yeah, yeah
The lyrics to AWOLNATION's song "MF" are full of aggression and rebellion, calling for action against the conformity and monotony of society. The opening lines suggest a desire for excitement and rebellion, with the singer urging their companion to "show up tonight" and "take it to the streets". They express a willingness to go against the norm, even suggesting riding a bike instead of taking a taxi, and carrying a bazooka tube on their shoulder. The singer craves connection, declaring that it's getting colder and that they need to hold someone.
The song turns more rebellious in the second verse as the singer calls for change, urging people to "freeze" and "kiss the sky" and feel the hysteria brought on by the radio. When the singer expresses a desire to "run through the world with my dick in hand" and "punch you in the face with the bass and a plan", it suggests a desire to break down societal norms and not be controlled by the expectations of others. The repeated use of the word "motherfucka" highlights the anger and frustration that the singer feels towards the status quo, and the energetic rock music amplifies this same sentiment.
Overall, the message in the song "MF" calls for rebellion and pushing back against the conformity of society. It calls for action and change, urging listeners to take control of their own lives and reject the norms that society imposes.
