It is a task that Detroit native Aaron-Carl has done consistently since 1996. As one of Detroit’s most in-demand producers & sought-after remixers, his signature sound crosses genres -- from soulful, gospel-infused House, to the dirtiest ghettotech anthems.
Hailed as a powerhouse in Detroit’s Electronic Music scene, with a discography to die for, he has remixed some of the Motor City’s biggest names – Underground Resistance, SCAN 7, AUX 88 & Kelli Hand; as well as international artists like Chicago House legend Dajae, Icelandic techno stars Gus Gus, and African jazz great Manu Dibango; to name a few.
As a vocalist, Aaron-Carl showcases a broad range. From the haunting chill of “Crucified” and “Sky”, to the seductive whispers of “Down” and “21 Positions”, to soul-stirring shouts of “Alright” and “My House”. AC prides himself in not just making records, but classics. His “let me tell you something about House music” acapella (appropriately titled “The Word”) is one of today’s most sampled House vocals, while “Down” is still a staple in the clubs – for more than a decade after its release.
AC also holds his own within the Hip Hop community -- particularly among the LGBT Hip Hop circles. Most notably producing hits for legendary rapper Johnny Dangerous, his remix of the infamous "Topsy Turvy" - in which he makes a cameo appearance -- is featured in the documentary, "Pick Up the Mic."
When he’s not producing or remixing, Aaron-Carl earns respect as a DJ. Countries throughout the world (France, Austria, Denmark and Iceland, to name a few) have experienced Carl’s “genderless” soul-stirring vocals mixed with a nice blend of house, techno and electro.
Aaron-Carl is the host of the weekly Internet radio show, The WARMTH Sessions. He is also the founder of the Detroit record label, Wallshaker Music.
After being diagnosed with cancer Aaron was optimistic. On his facebook page he wrote: ‘Finished the bone marrow biopsy. Ouch! Now I’m preparing for the lymph node removal. Surgery, here I come!’
Despite everyone’s effort he suddenly passed away on September 30th 2010. Most of all his warm heart will be missed deeply, besides that his music will live on forever.

Never thought I'd be here, but here's where I'm at.
Here's where I'm at right now.
High off life, I can touch the clouds.
That's what it feels like now,
You don't believe me,
You can come and find out.
(During your many past lives,
Reaping the consequences of these deeds today.)
Transmutin' energy I gotta do it
Watch what you saying, yeah watch what you doing.
Watch what you're doing,
No I can't be foolish.
'Cause this time around
I ain't here for to stay,
On to the next in this game that play,
So how you expect me to stay the same?
How am I the one that's fake
Like, when did evolving become a problem?
(I don't know, I don't know.)
Walking contradiction, you can call me that.
Never thought I'd be here, but here's where I'm at.
Here's where I'm at right now.
High off life, I can touch the clouds.
That's what it feels like now,
You don't believe me,
You can come and find out.
(Now, before you can be come liberated,
You've got to pay off your karmic debts.)
clchemize, for to have a peace of mind.
Tap in with divine.
Because you deserve it,
Don't let nobody tell you you ain't worth it,
Fuck it I'll say it, we perfect!
cnd that's just what it is,
Even if it ain't always been like this,
But now now we locked in with the infinite,
So come and join the kid!
Walking contradiction, you can call me that.
Never thought I'd be here, but here's where I'm at.
Here's where I'm at right now.
High off life, I can touch the clouds.
That's what it feels like now,
You don't believe me,
You can come and find out.
(cnd so,
The moment you set your foot on the path of liberation,
You are apt to find that all your karmic creditors will come to your door.)
The lyrics to Aaron-Carl's song "Liberation" reflect a sense of self-awareness and personal growth. The singer identifies themselves as a walking contradiction, acknowledging that they may possess conflicting qualities or behaviors. They express astonishment at finding themselves in their current situation, but they also embrace it as a place of self-realization and personal empowerment.
The phrase "High off life, I can touch the clouds" conveys a euphoric feeling of being fully alive and connected to the world around them. The singer challenges anyone who doubts their transformation to come and witness it firsthand. There is also a recognition of the consequences of past actions, acknowledging the concept of karma and the idea that present circumstances are a result of past deeds, whether good or bad.
The lyrics emphasize the importance of taking control of one's energy and being mindful of words and actions. The singer encourages others to be conscious of their own behaviors, suggesting that one must be careful in order to avoid repeating past mistakes. They express a desire to evolve and grow, asserting that they are not here to stay in one place but rather to move forward and embrace the ever-changing nature of life.
The second paragraph encourages listeners to seek peace of mind and tap into the divine, implying that liberation and self-realization come from within. The singer highlights the inherent worthiness of every individual, rejecting the notion that anyone is unworthy or imperfect. They invite others to join them on this path of self-discovery and liberation.
Overall, "Liberation" is a song that conveys a sense of personal transformation, self-acceptance, and empowerment. It inspires listeners to embrace change, recognize their own worth, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and liberation.
