1. Aaron Lewis, born April 13, 1972 in Rutland, Vermont, USA, is the lead vocalist of the hard rock/post-grunge group Staind . According to the Country Boy Songfacts, growing up in rural Vermont, Lewis spent summers with his World War II veteran grandfather hunting and fishing. "Country was the background music to my childhood," said the singer. "My grandfather listened to Merle Haggard , Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr. and all of the greats. When Staind did our first tour with Kid Rock in 1999, I rode the bus with him on a couple occasions, and we bonded over this music. I haven't been able to let go of it since then."
Aaron Lewis was, before Staind, in an acoustic band known as JCAT
Lewis is renowned for his songwriting skills and has been nominated for 3 Grammys. His hobbies include fishing, golf and riding his mini dirt bike. He has worked in landscaping, cleaned hotel rooms, and played solo acoustic sets in bars around Atlanta. He is married to Vanessa Lewis and has three daughters, Zoe Jane, Nyla Rae and Indie Shay, as well as two sisters Yvette and Rachel.
He has been guest vocals for several songs by the band Cold and he also remixed Crawling for Linkin Park's album Reanimation.
2. Aaron has been a fan of music his entire life. It started out by dancing with his 10 records that played on his plastic record player when he was a toddler. Aaron bought his first album at the age of five when other kids were buying toys. In the third grade for the what do you want to be when you grow up assignment Aaron saw himself as a rock and roll star. It was a vision Aaron held until 1996 performing in 3 bands Insanity (hard rock) Agen Wicked (Heavy Metal) and Liquid Bread (blues).
In 1996 Aaron found the love of his life Paula and helped her in raising her 3 sons Bryan, Jeff, and Nathan so much so that they are now Aaron's 3 sons as well. From 1996 through 2006 Aaron did all the things necessary to raise a healthy family. He attended Colorado State University and received a bachelors degree of music. Upon graduation Aaron moved to Albuquerque with Paula and sons and began teaching music in the public schools. In the spring of 2006 CD Aaron observed his CD Gemini was selling in the United States and abroad in the UK with no promotion, combined with a sense of unexplained unhappiness and encouragement from loving wife who was following her dreams drove Aaron to make the decision to follow his dreams of being a well known musician.
Aaron quit his day job and started composing his third self released CD "Space Travel" with 9 original compositions for solo guitar and 1 composition for piano. Aaron had the CD professionally manufactured and is gaining momentum with the release. It is maintaining a steady position on the Inide-Music.com charts on both the instrumental and the experimental charts. The CD is about to be reviewed by Progression Magazine out of Massachusetts, and it is receiving requests from all over the states, Germany, and the UK for radio play. Aaron plays regularly around the state of New Mexico and is currently planning tours of Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico for the spring of 2009. Since Aaron has been performing some notable gigs for him were the Sunport Serenades at the Albuquerque International Sunport, the City of Albuquerque Lunchtime on the Plaza, Duke City Fix Craftacular Spectacular, Grandmas Music, Albuquerque Library lunchtime performance, New Mexico State Fair happy hour stages, The Go Festival in downtown Albuquerque, private parties for the Albuquerque Economic Development Group, A private party for The Turquoise Trail Preservation Society, a Target corporate event in Pueblo, Colorado, and a lunchtime performance on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo. Aaron also performs for house concerts, weddings, and other unique events.
Aaron and his wife Paula also recently fulfilled a dream they had of opening up artist studios and a gallery and performance space Art Center in Albuquerque.
Outside

Can bring me to my knees
Again
All the times
That I could beg you please
In vain
That I felt insecure
For you
And I leave
My burdens at the door
But I'm on the outside
I'm looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
'Cause inside you're ugly
You're ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you
All the times
That I felt like this won't end
Was for you
And I taste
What I could never have
It's from you
All those times
That I tried
My intentions
Full of pride
And I waste
More time than anyone
But I'm on the outside
I'm looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
'Cause inside you're ugly
You're ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you
All the times
That I've cried
All that's wasted
It's all inside
But I feel
All this pain
Stuffed it down
It's back again
And I lie
Here in bed
All alone
I can't mend
And I feel
Tomorrow will be okay
But I'm on the outside
I'm looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
'Cause inside you're ugly
You're ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you
The lyrics of Aaron Lewis & Fred Durst's song Outside tell a story of inner turmoil and insecurity. The singer expresses how he has begged his love interest for something they are not willing to give him. He feels vulnerable and insecure when dealing with this person but tries to leave his emotions outside when he enters their life. He acknowledges his pain and that it's been stuffed down only to resurface again. While he may feel alone in his experience, he hopes that tomorrow will be better. Despite his feelings of isolation, he can see through this person and can see the ugliness inside them which he feels reflects his own insecurities.
The narrative of the song is raw and honest. The lyrics inspire empathy, as they describe complex emotions that many people can relate to. The song's message is that many people are constantly battling internal conflict and are in need of support and validation.
