Born in … Read Full Bio ↴Aaron Tippin (born July 3, 1958) is a country music singer.
Born in Pensacola, Florida, but raised in upstate South Carolina, Tippin performed in local honky-tonks in the 1970s. He competed on TNN's "You Can Be A Star" talent contest in 1986, landed a song publishing contract and moved to Nashville in 1987. During this time he wrote songs for The Kingsmen, David Ball, The Midsouth Boys, Mark Collie, and Charlie Pride. He would spend his nights working at a mill in Kentucky and spend his days driving 60 miles to Nashville to write songs.
Tippin performed his first Nashville nightclub show in 1990, and it earned him a contract with RCA records. His first single, "You've Got to Stand for Something", cracked the top 10 in 1991 and allowed him to go to the Persian Gulf with Bob Hope, to entertain the troops. Then, in 1992, Aaron's single "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With the Radio" stayed at No. 1 for three weeks.
In 1995, Tippin married Thea Corontzos, and he, Thea, and his manager, Billy Craven, created Tippin's company, Tip Top Entertainment. Tippin also opened two hunting supply stores called Aaron Tippin Firearms. One is located close to where he lives in Smithville, Tennessee, and the other run by his father in Oak City, North Carolina.
In 1998, Tippin moved to Lyric Street Records and charted a No.1 hit with "Kiss This", co-written with his wife Thea in 2000. In the wake of 9/11, his patriotic anthem, "Where the Stars and Stripes and Eagle Fly", peaked at No. 2. Both songs crossed over onto the Hot 100 charts; in fact, "Stars And Stripes" was his biggest crossover hit.
In 2006, Tippin started up his own record label, Nippit Records; the label's name is "Tippin" spelled backwards.

Run run Rudolph Vixen can't be far behind
Run run Rudolph Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry; tell him he can take the freeway down
Run run Rudolph spinning like a merry go round
Said Santa to the boy child what would you be longing for
All I want for Christmas is a rock and roll electric guitar
Then away went Rudolph streaking like a shooting star
Santa make him hurry; tell him he can take the freeway down
Run run Rudolph spinning like a merry go round
(go go go)
Said Santa to the girl child what would you be pleased most to get
A little Barbie doll that can cry sleep drink and wet
Then away went Rudolph streaking like a Citation jet
Run run Rudolph Santa got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry; tell him he can take the interstate down
Run run Rudolph spinning like a merry go round
... round round round round round
Run run Rudolph Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry; tell him he can take the freeway down
Run run Rudolph spinning like a merry go round
In Aaron Tippin's "Run Rudolph Run," the singer presents the story of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer who is entrusted with a critical mission of delivering Christmas gifts to the children in town. Rudolph is a mastermind and a skilled reindeer, evident in his ability to lead the other reindeer, his speed, and agility. Tippin describes Rudolph running faster and faster, like a spinning merry-go-round, symbolizing the excitement and enthusiasm of Christmas.
As Rudolph speeds ahead, Tippin introduces us to two children who Santa Clause asked what they wanted for Christmas. The first child, being a boy, dreams of receiving an electric guitar to play rock and roll music. The second child, a girl, wants a Barbie doll that can cry, sleep, drink and wet. Tippin emphasizes Rudolph's speed as he zooms through the sky like a Citation jet, representing the urgency of getting the children's gifts before Christmas is over.
The song is a lively, upbeat Christmas classic that celebrates the festive season's joy, excitement, and tradition. It is a tribute to Rudolph, the beloved character in the Christmas story, who helps to deliver the holiday's cheer by leading the other reindeer to Santa's destination.
