Stealing Time
Above Beyond Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All the hours that God sends
I'm flying high on my red eye
And winding down the windows
I'm stealing time from my own life
All the hours that God sends
My future is a valentine
And as the hours go flashing by
I'm winding down the windows
And I know I'm living out of line
But with a blazing smile I'll die
The lyrics to Above Beyond's song "Stealing Time" convey a sense of profound urgency and a desire to make the most of every moment. The first line "I'm stealing time from my own life" speaks to the fact that the songwriter is aware of the fleeting nature of time and is trying to make the most of it. This is reinforced in the second line "All the hours that God sends" indicating that the songwriter is trying to make use of every moment possible.
The lines "I'm flying high on my red eye" and "And winding down the windows" further add to the sense of urgency and the desire to be in the present moment. The songwriter is living life to the fullest, taking risks, and embracing every experience that comes their way.
The songwriter's awareness of the impermanence of life is also present in the lines "My future is a valentine, Stolen in the perfect crime." Here, the songwriter is aware that their future is not guaranteed, but they are determined to make the most of it anyway. The final lines of the song "But with a blazing smile, I'll die" indicate that the songwriter is aware of the risks they are taking but is willing to embrace them with open arms.

I'm stealing time from my own life
I am taking time away from my own existence
All the hours that God sends
Every moment of each day
I'm flying high on my red eye
I am traveling by plane during the night
And winding down the windows
And opening the car windows
My future is a valentine
My future is something I cherish and hold dear
Stolen in the perfect crime
Obtained without anyone knowing or suspecting
And as the hours go flashing by
As the time passes quickly
I'm winding down the windows
I am still opening the car windows
And I know I'm living out of line
I am aware that I am not living in the correct way
But with a blazing smile I'll die
But I will leave this world with happiness and joy

I'm stealing time from my own life,
all the hours that God sends,
I'm flying high on my red eye
and winding down the windows.
I'm stealing time from my own life,
all the hours that God sends,
my future is a Valentine,
stolen in the perfect crime.
And as the hours go flashing by,
I'm winding down the windows.
And I know I'm living out of line,
but with a blazing smile I'll die.

2020 and I am still can't get enough of it. This album was a real diamond back in 2006. Tri-State's music was what a real electronic progressive trance music should be and was. I feel blessed I experienced this music at its best era. Now unfortunately we don't have this quality music any more because everyone try to be with the mass of the recent era. But I will always have as my favorites tracks the Stealing Time, Alone Tonight, Can't Sleep and Home. Had the chance to watch Above & Beyond live in a club 2 times and it was like a dream that became reality when I heard these songs live. God bless these guys. Happy new year everyone.

I stumbled on this song in 2022 and i love it too. Every once in a blue moon i find a rare present day trance track but on the whole it's devolved into such a poppy obnoxious genre. I still keep coming back to stuff that basically came out between 2005 and 2012 ish. That's the golden age for me.

This song scores well on almost every level. Nostalgia, regret, hope, desperation, fantasy, inner reflection. If it doesn't motivate your current attitude, you'''re already dead.
