These lyrics are about a person who is struggling to move on after a relationship has ended. Despite knowing that it's over and that they should let go, they find that they can't. The first two lines express the confusion and frustration that the singer is feeling about their inability to move on even though the "worst is over." The following lines indicate that this is a familiar pattern for the singer - they have tried to move on before but have not been successful.
The person tells us that they are still in the same spot where they were left, and they're staying there. They explain that the one who left them wanted them to be a certain way, so they became that person. The singer feels like they have become the enemy in some way, perhaps because they had to change themselves to please the other person.
