Their current lineup consists of Hoffmann, vocalist Mark Tornillo, guitarists Uwe Lulis and Philip Shouse, drummer Christopher Williams and bassist Martin Motnik. Before arriving at their current lineup, Accept has undergone numerous lineup changes, being Hoffmann the last remaining original member since its inception, and he is the only band member to appear on each album.
Accept played an important role in the development of speed and thrash metal, and they were part of the German heavy metal scene, which emerged in the early to mid-1980s. They have also been cited as an influence or inspiration by a number of acts, including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Testament, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Overkill, Exodus, and Annihilator, as well as fellow Germans such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Doro, Sodom, Rage, and Grave Digger. Accept achieved its first commercial success with their fifth studio album Balls to the Wall (1983), which is the band's only album to be certified gold in the United States and Canada, and spawned their well-known hit "Balls to the Wall".
Accept have broken up and reformed multiple times. They first split up in 1989, several months after the release of Eat the Heat (which was their only album with Dirkschneider's initial replacement David Reece), but reformed in 1992 and released three more albums before disbanding again in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005, Accept announced their third reunion in 2009, with former T.T. Quick frontman Mark Tornillo replacing Dirkschneider (who declined to participate), and the band has recorded five albums with him: Blood of the Nations (2010), Stalingrad (2012), Blind Rage (2014), The Rise of Chaos (2017) and Too Mean to Die (2021); each of those albums renewed Accept's popularity in Germany and entered the top ten charts there.

Accept Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Bionic implants engineered for flesh and bone
Computer circuits under command
Of my intelligence, I am a metal man
I am indestructible (indestructible)
Half human, half machine
Evil and invincible (invincible)
Humanoid
I'm a humanoid
Forged in your likeness, my blood runs cold
I am superior, I cannot be controlled
I have reprogrammed internal drive
You will be assimilated into the hive
Welcome to the future (to the future)
A flesh and blood machine
I am indestructible (indestructible)
No one can challenge me
Humanoid
I'm a humanoid
Humanoid
Living, breathing, humanoid
We are indestructible (indestructible)
Upgraded human beings
We are undeniable (undeniable)
The likes you've never seen
Humanoid, cybernetic dream
We are humanoid, half human, half machine
Humanoid, no feelings and no soul
All hail the humanoid, we have assumed control
Yeah
The lyrics of Accept's song "Humanoid" delve into the concept of a futuristic being known as a humanoid, depicted as a hybrid creature that combines the qualities of both humans and machines. The singer introduces themselves as Hybrid, standing alone with bionic implants engineered to enhance the capacity of their flesh and bone. They describe internal computer circuits functioning under their control, emphasizing their intelligence and identity as a metal man. The repeated assertion of being indestructible and the assertion of an evil and invincible nature conveys a sense of power and dominance, with a heart made of steel symbolizing a cold and unyielding nature.
The singer further establishes their superiority and autonomy by asserting that they are forged in the likeness of humans but exist on a higher plane that cannot be subjected to external control. They proclaim having reprogrammed their internal drive, implying a self-directed purpose that transcends mere subservience. The imagery of assimilating others into a hive echoes themes of domination and conformity, suggesting a future where individuality is subsumed into a collective consciousness. This notion is reinforced in the declaration of a flesh and blood machine, blurring the boundaries between organic and artificial existence.
As the song progresses, the singer expands their proclamation of being indestructible to a collective identity, stating that they are upgraded human beings who are undeniable in their power and presence. The unity and strength of these humanoids are emphasized, portraying them as a force to be reckoned with, unlike anything previously encountered. The repetition of the term "humanoid" underscores their hybrid nature and hints at their ability to transcend conventional limitations, with the final exaltation of assuming control signaling a shift in power dynamics and a claim of dominance over the world.
In conclusion, the lyrics of "Humanoid" by Accept paint a vivid picture of a future where beings that blur the line between human and machine reign supreme. The song unfolds as a declaration of power, superiority, and unity among these humanoids, who are portrayed as unyielding, unstoppable forces set to dominate and reshape the world. Through imagery of assimilation, reprogramming, and collective control, the song encapsulates themes of technological advancement, transcendence, and the potential consequences of pursuing a path of hybridization between humanity and artificial intelligence.

Phenomenal song!! Love the extended solos, too. There's a very different, but yet familiar, feel to this tune. Really looking forward to the new album! It feels like the last album was released a few months ago. Time sure flies.
