Never Ever
Acid Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When this is all we know
It's all we know
I adore my own
All my own
I make rock n' roll
It's all I know
Baby sleeps in my home
I never
I never ever
I never
I never
I never ever
I never
I keep it rolling
I don't never ever give up on ya
I never
I never ever
I never
Ain't looking to no one else
It's all I know
Just trying to be myself
All on my own
Neighbours treat me like an enemy
Maybe my neighbours me
In a society built with fear
I never
I never ever
I never
I never
I never ever
I never
I keep it rolling
I don't never ever give up on ya
I never

I never ever
I never

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Acid's song "Never Ever" seem to convey a sense of individuality, self-reliance, and a refusal to conform to societal expectations. The repeated phrase "I never ever" emphasizes the singer's determination to remain true to themselves and their own passions, regardless of external influences.

The opening lines, "When this is all we know, it's all we know," suggests a limited perspective or experience, but instead of feeling restrained by it, the singer embraces it and adores their own uniqueness. The line "I make rock n' roll, it's all I know" further reinforces their commitment to their chosen path and art form. This could be interpreted as either a literal reference to making music or as a metaphor for living life with a rebellious and authentic spirit.

The mention of a baby sleeping in their home might symbolize the singer's dreams or creative ideas that they need to protect and nurture. It could also represent a metaphorical offspring of their artistic endeavors. Additionally, the line "Neighbours treat me like an enemy, maybe my neighbours me" suggests a disconnect or misunderstanding between the singer and those around them. This could reflect the singer's feeling of being ostracized or judged for their unconventional choices, but also hints at the possibility of self-reflection and recognition of their own role in this dynamic.

no..and we did,it is and was more important to create and release the art,not wait for some fucker for cash and the ok validation.it's like saying robert johnson should have waited until american idol to be born.

i never considered this to be lo-fi. first time i have thought about that statement.. i guess i just listen and enjoy it for what it is, what it brings.. production of music is all subjective anyway. there are people who purposely make their tracks sound lofi on really high dollar preamps and what not. like newcombe said.. it is about the art... the sound.. the image it creates.

@marceluv

Lo-fi but way high! This tune doesn't need to be super slick & glossy to work...

@sco40

I wish they would recorded this in a studio, such a beautiful song but too LO-Fi
