OK
Action Toolbelt Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've been taking this time you've been wasting to write down what's inside
Of my mind that's been so hard to find since you came
along and took me for a ride
Let's get together in spite of the weather I'm floating
here until we all capsize
I'll think of you

Holding off till someone shows me
Holding on till someone knows the way

I'm sedated and self medicated now I can't hear your pleas
Getting higher I've drawn friendly fire,
this tight rope walk is murder on my knees
It's an art that gets lost from the start you can paint
it now anyway you see
Still think of you

Holding off till someone shows me
Holding on till someone knows the way

I'm waiting for you to understand
I'm waiting for you to tell me its all OK

Anything you want now
Anything you need now
I couldn't get for you
Its broken hearts that don't pass start
Its broken dreams that drive you like they do

Feel mostly dead now….but somehow… slightly alive
Caught in your head wind……a dead spin…..I start to dive
I'm earthbound……..one last round……So dead tired
Now of you

Holding off till someone shows me
Holding on till someone knows the way

I waited for you to understand
I waited for you to tell me it would be OK

Hi Scot, I was a chippy in New Zealand for a couple of years and made the big move from the U.K. to come and help with the Christchurch rebuild and settled in Nelson. Sadly had to come home, due to family reasons.. but am looking to come back next year (covid allowing). Love it out there.

I have a question for you and a request.

I had a Taurus super Yankee which I liked but have moved to my first Occidental belt for framing.. my question is this.. out of the two.. which do you like more as a framing belt? Taurus for the weight and size, or Occidental for the organisation of the pouches.

Also.. my request is could you do a setup video on the setup of your shoulder straps on your belt.. they are an interesting setup especially with the actual adjustment part. Mine seem to work their way loose. Not sure if I have set it up right.

Keep up the good work and good vids. Enjoy you summer.. lucky lad. 😉😊

Morning Boys,

Quick question. Are both the suspender set ups the same and where can I check them out? Just running a cheap model atm.

I've been using the Taurus from day one. My last one lasted just over 12 years, had it with me in Scotland, Canada, USA and Aussie. In North America they would poke a bit of shit at how small the Taurus was and that I couldn't carry as much as them....I could never understand how/why they would carry so many tools, nails, screws etc each to their own I guess.

My two cents

Taurus tool belt - set combi square at 100 - 130mm (square not 45) and it will sit in that slot fine without stabbing in the leg. I also carry a speed square.
- the two little pockets/slots that are almost too small for anything are perfect for tek screw bits
- the only fault i find is that the leather loop on the back (nail bar slot) is the best place to hang a nail gun, but can't fit both.

Also Taurus customer service is pretty good. Newish nail bag was outside of warranty and they fixed it for free, (suspender loophole broke), free same day delivery and everything. I can not recommend them enough.

No thanks to carrying all that weight around all day. I keep my nail bag setup as lightweight as possible all the time.

Belt:
1x 2 pocket pouch.
Hammer holder.
Tape holder.
Chisel + pencil holder combo.

Tools:
1x hammer
1x tape measure
1x combo square.
1x pincers
2x chisels
2x pencils
2x nail punch

I’ve worn tool bag for over twenty years. Cheap ones, expensive ones. This is what I’ve learned, “Time hates cheap tools.” Occidental, best investment ever! Wears like iron, extremely versatile. You can’t go wrong.

$295 for the shoulder straps alone is a steep price, BUT after searching for alternative "quality" shoulder straps, there isn't really much out there that quite as good or even close. I'm starting my apprenticeship end of the month and I'm going to invest in these tools and gear because you have done a very good job reviewing these products and the value is unquestionable.

Quality Content like always! You made me really think about getting all my tools in the cordless version, I don't need them but seeing you work with them gave me some ideas. Greetings from Holland.

The one justification I see for Scott's is that it's never going to fall apart. Twice as expensive, at least twice the life. When your nail punch holders rip out, it's not a huge deal, but it would annoy me. But it's a pretty good sign the rest of it is going to wear through soon. One piece at a time.

I still have two cheap belts for some reason- maybe to give to apprentices.

frank ryan

He got that belt as an apprentice,I'd say he's got his moneys worth tbh.

The nail punch holders and chisel holders always go (half the chippies on site have electrical tape on their chisel holders),butnthe rest of the belt is solid.

Occidental sells tool sheaths you can clip or slide into any pounches. Made of hard plastic to keep them from ripping into the nylon. Great for chisels

Thanks for the vids! I’m a carpenter in Colorado. 23 years of swinging a hammer! My wife and I are considering emigrating to NZ, so it’s nice to see how tradesmen operate and do business!

Better leave your AR15 behind, no toys like that here I'm afraid.

Dave R

did you end up emigrating ?
