Paz
Adrián Paoletti Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Adrián Paoletti's song "Paz" tell the story of a man who, instead of fulfilling his responsibilities, neglected his discomfort and let things be. He had a subtle pain in his shoulder that he ignored, and from it, an unexpectedly beautiful thing sprouted. A seed had germinated, a stem had grown, and leaves followed. The man had a peculiar plant growing on his shoulder, one that was difficult to hide. The plant's roots grew deep and tangled with his veins, and as a result, the man could no longer move around freely. He had become stationary, and now anyone can find him right where he stands.

The meaning behind the lyrics speaks to the importance of tending to one's ailments, both physically and mentally, and not allowing discomfort or pain to spiral out of control. The plant growing out of the man's shoulder symbolizes growth in the midst of turmoil, and finding beauty in unexpected places. The man's inability to move represents the consequences of neglecting one's health and the importance of taking care of oneself.
