Produced by the hand of legendary noise producer Keith Cleversley, the band picks some of their best tunes, all of them with sparkling melodies, some sky-high psychedelia and just the right amount of guitar noise. The EP kicks off with 'Full Tilt', a great indie flavoured guitar song that reminded me a bit of Adorable. But Wade Settle's voice is not as throaty as Piotr Fijalkowski's. Deeper and just a little more nasal, he reminds you more of Neil Halstead. But the star of the EP is the second track, 'Five Miles Into the Atmosphere, probably ALF's first song ever as a band. This is a track so powerful, melodic and shimmering that it achieves more than that, taking the listener even further than five miles high. The weirdly titled 'My Clock is Always Five minutes Weirder' is a dizzying swirl of guitars, while 'Angelika', goes straight into the noisier parts of Slowdive, with Tracy Thompkins' drumming adding extra power to the songs. The record closes with the trippy 'Signal', which also borrows from Neil Halstead & co.'s noise manual, but who cares? It sounds great and that's what it's all about. This EP is a truly shoegaze experience that actually manages to capture the enormous power of their live performances. Great debut.

This is the EP version, the album version is faster and more synthy. I think I prefer that one more but its not on the youtube's anymore
