Homesick
Airbag Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's funny how my life just fall apart.
I slept through days and nights like a perfect
Prince.
Then it come crashing through the
Walls of lies and silence in my head.
It's time to go before we came.
And I know that we can't stay the same.
Imagine that all you know are what you were told to care about.
Now after all this time you find your faith is fading.

But it's time to go before we came.
And it only takes a second to turn yourself.

Overall Meaning

The opening line "It's funny how my life just fall apart" sets the tone for the entire song. There is a sense of detachment and resignation in the way the lyrics are sung, as though the singer has already accepted that their life is in shambles. The second line "I slept through days and nights like a perfect Prince" further reinforces this idea of disconnect, implying that the singer was once living in a dream-like state, unbothered by the outside world. However, this state of complacency is disrupted when "it come crashing through the walls of lies and silence in my head." The singer seems to be describing a moment of awakening, perhaps a realization that their previous way of life was unsustainable.

The following lines "It's time to go before we came / And I know that we can't stay the same" suggest that the singer has come to terms with the fact that change is necessary. They acknowledge that they cannot continue on the same path any longer and that it's time to move on. The lyrics "Imagine that all you know are what you were told to care about / Now after all this time you find your faith is fading" imply that the singer has been living a life that was not entirely their own. They were raised to value certain things, but as they have grown older, they have come to realize that these values may not align with their true beliefs.

In the final line "And it only takes a second to turn yourself," the singer seems to be encouraging themselves to take action. They acknowledge that change can happen quickly and that they have the power to make a difference in their own life. Overall, the song seems to be about coming to terms with the fact that one's life has not turned out as planned and acknowledging the need for change.
