Slave
Airbag Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Since you left me
I never wanted it to end up
Like this
Is it you or is it me?
Did I lose the faith?
I need someone to be here
But you make me feel so small
You break me down and leave me wanting so much more
But I can be a slave again
So come back to me
Don't leave me all alone
Oh, the sweetest taste
They are in my veins
And I can see so much clearer now,
With you
No matter how hard I try
No matter how bad I feel
I need you to be here
'Cause I'm never satisfied
But you make me feel so small
You break me down and leave me wanting so much more
But I can be a slave again
So come back to me, I'm right here all alone
The lyrics of "Slave" by Airbag are about the aftermath of a painful breakup. The singer is lamenting the loss of their partner and questioning what went wrong. They wonder if they themselves are to blame for losing faith or if their ex-partner is at fault for leaving them. Regardless of the cause, the singer is struggling to cope with the loss and feels small without their partner's presence.
The lyrics contain a desperate plea for their ex-partner to return, despite the pain they have caused, as the singer believes they cannot be happy without them. The song explores the overwhelming desire to have someone care for you and the fear of being alone. The line "But I can be a slave again, so come back to me" illustrates the singer's willingness to give up their freedom and independence to have their partner back in their life.
Overall, "Slave" by Airbag is a poignant exploration of the complex emotions that come with a breakup. It touches on themes of loss, fear, and the intense desire for connection and companionship.

I agree, it also makes more sense with ''can''. I believe the lyrics found on metrolyrics are the most accurate, as far as I can tell.

its actually "can" not "cant", at least from what ican hear & other lyric sites seem to say. which makes it an even sadder more bleak meaning
