drawing a line in the snow
badges of red decorate them
one left standing on his own
running so fast
no way to outlast
the flying missiles made of snow
15 to 1, nowhere to run
covered in snow, nowhere to go
a battle he lost 25 to 1
frozen in place
a shrine of this place
ゆきぐに の いちばん スノーボーイ
The song Red Friends by Airiel is a melancholic and nostalgic track that talks about a group of sixteen young friends who gather together for one last time before parting ways. They seem to be playing a game of snowball fight where they tie up loose ends and draw a line in the snow, and each of them adorns a badge of red. However, as the game progresses, one friend is left standing on his own, representing the feeling of loneliness that comes with growing up and moving away from one's friends.
The lyrics describe the sense of helplessness the singer feels as he runs fast to escape the snow missiles but to no avail. He is hardly able to outlast the snow missiles made of snow, and eventually, he loses the battle with his friends. The lines 'covered in snow, nowhere to go, a battle he lost 25 to 1, frozen in place, a shrine of this place' describes the aftermath of the game where the singer is left stranded in the snow, covered in it, frozen in place, and becomes a shrine of the place where he lost the game.
Overall, Red Friends by Airiel is a poignant reminder of the bittersweet experience of growing up, the memories shared with friends, and the feeling of loss that comes with moving on.
