Moonlight
Akbaba Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Moonlight, in the sky,
Only the moon can see,
How I cry
Shadows will fly,the moon won't show
How I die.

(chorus)
I'm trying to get away from this nightmare
I'm trying to get awat from this fear
I'm trying to get away from this nightmare
I'm trying to get away from you.

Sholud I cry my baby, should I die.

Sunlight, will not shine.
Until the day, you'll be mine.
Come on stop crying
Come back to me then I'll be fine

(chorus)

Can't you see, can't you see me crying?
Can't you see ohh, can't you see me die?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Akbaba's song "Moonlight" convey a sense of emotional turmoil and desperation. The opening line, "Moonlight, in the sky, only the moon can see, how I cry," suggests that the singer is overcome with sadness and feels as though only the moon is witness to their pain. The following line, "Shadows will fly, the moon won't show, how I die," is a metaphor for the idea that despite everything else changing around the singer, the moon remains constant and indifferent to their suffering.

The chorus of the song intensifies the themes of heartbreak and longing. The repetition of "I'm trying to get away from this nightmare, I'm trying to get away from this fear" highlights the idea that the singer is trying to escape from a situation that feels overwhelming and terrifying. The line "I'm trying to get away from you" suggests that the cause of the singer's pain is another person, possibly a romantic partner. The repeated use of the word "trying" also adds a sense of futility and frustration to the lyrics, as though the singer has been struggling to escape their situation for some time without success.

The final verse introduces a ray of hope, with the line "Sunlight will not shine until the day you'll be mine." This suggests that the singer is holding out hope for a reconciliation or resolution with their partner that will bring happiness and light back into their life. The closing lines of the song, "Can't you see me crying? Can't you see me die?" serve to reinforce the singer's sense of isolation and desperation.

Süper bir AOR ballad olmuş, back vokallere gel! Klasik bir kalıp olduğu için tam orjinal değil ama köklere sağdık soundu ve melodileri sayesinde kaliteli bir çalışma olmuş. Tam uyaza bağlatıyor sonlarda, çok aşmış olmuş hakkaten. Yazarken gaza geliyor insan.

@lotrfann
