The moon belongs to ev'ryone
The best things in life are free
The stars belong to ev'ryone
They gleam there for you and me

The flowers in spring
The robins that sing
The sunbeams that shine
They're yours, they're mine

And love can come to ev'ryone
The best things in life are free

Al Jolson and a philosophy treatise make this a rare treat!

@bradfordrusso7480

This is one of the most beautiful and touching songs and renditions. I am crying as I write this. Jolson's songs are ALWAYS and ONLY up-beat. Speaking of life, beauty, sunshine, happiness, faith, hope, Love. He helped Americans weather the Great Depression.

Then he led and paved the way for other stars, like Bob Hope, to travel overseas, to entertain our troops in WW-2.

When Al suddenly and un-expectedly died in 1950, there was panic in the streets. Open weeping in Every Public Place! Truly a national treasure.

The greatest entertainer of all time. Because his songs were NOT songs. They were his Jewish prayers from the human heart. And THAT is why he touched so many lives, so deeply.
