Overall Meaning

It's nice of him to say he completely trusts armorer but he forgot to mention Gutierrez-Reed wasn't present during those camera tests. Which leads to the series of failures which lead to the accident:
- there shouldn't be any (live) gun on the set as she should keep it locked in safety
- assistant director shouldn't give (live) gun to Baldwin as he had no right to do so
- Halyna shouldn't tell him to point the gun at her and pull the hammer up and down
- assistant director Hall shouldn't be the one who is giving the actor (live) gun, he didn't check it
- director on the set should have not allowed such carelessness
- Baldwin should have checked the gun himself prior to taking it (and not blindly trust anyone when the armorer wasn't around)
- they shouldn't use the very same pistol to shoot cans during lunch-time before as casual activity
Baldwin probably doesn't want to harm his production and blame his crew but the fact is whole production was highly unprofessional and following by accidental gun discharge before they were asking for it. Gutierrez-Reed is responsible as she was paid exactly for such thing to not happen.

Why did he think she fainted after he felt the "kick" of the gun sitting in his hands?

He's worked for 40 years on movie sets but claims he's never heard the phrase armorer before.....

He said he didn't know 2 people were shot until the officer had showed him a picture of the bullet.....
So what he's saying is the medics on sight that originally stabilized both shot people......didn't see bullet holes or blood.....didn't tell anyone else what happened...... etc etc

The District Attorney of New Mexico is probably gonna rip this interview to shreds.
For one, a technical term would be "diluting the jury pool"......before trial commences and jury selection.

The mere fact of pushing these lies publicly makes Alec Baldwin and ABC responsible for tampering with the judicial process.

Stated he had handled weapons and prop guns in movies many times. Stated specifically the term “cold gun” is NEVER USED. He had never hear it it before !
Baldwin is trying to set up a public defense. He is also lying. As producer and actor he is culpable and did not follow the industry standards.

Bro, I'm a truck driver.

I would not be given anywhere near this much leniency if I caused an accident that killed someone.

I just took the truck to the mechanic. He told me that it was fine to drive. I have no idea how my trailer detached going 70 on the freeway.

Me and the car in front of me both had one thing in common. The belief that my brakes worked.

Sure, other truck drivers claim they always check to make sure their wheels aren't going to fly off, but that doesn't help my situation. They just had to add something.

My family and I are great. We have a great time. Those people? None of them have fathers, mothers, brothers or sisters now. There's nothing I can do to bring them back. Did I mention I never hit the gas pedal? That's important. I dont even know how I got up to that speed.

oh yes so true. the only person who matters now is the boy who lost his mother. BAldwin is an adult and he can handle this situation to the end. A 9 yr old boy is not equipped for this and years of therapy will only lessen the paid but it can never be eliminated.

Some people are so quick to judge and point fingers. Let's just hope jurors aren't the same. Investigation isn't even complete, it's insane when they say well Alec has a temper lol really does that make him want to kill his co workers!! Hannah can't even remember who hired her and she didn't think she was fit for the job to take care and handle the guns. She was acting high during her interview she couldn't sit still and she said she had a headache that day and she herself said other people handled the gun after she loaded it. There you go when people don't take their job seriously an accident happened. It was her job to protect and load the gun. She couldn't even get off her phone when the cop was talking to her. There was no professionalism. Wait for all the evidence to come out because just because you don't like an actor you think he's responsible for the accident killing. What if that was you? I've worked on film sets for six years and this is a nightmare. From my experience the three people responsible for on set gun safety are the director, the 1st AD, and the armorer. You don't want the actor being responsible for on set gun safety. It would lead to more accidents. The idea that a live round would be on set is insane. Film/TV is the only industry where you point a gun at someone, pull the trigger, and expect them to be fine. The idea that you wouldnever point a gun at someone on set is stupid. Turn on the TV right now and flip the channels. Stop when you see someone pointing a gun at another person. You won't make it ten channels.

Anyone who touches a gun is responsible for anything that happens while the gun is in his control. This could have been prevented if Alec Baldwin had observed a basic gun safety gun rule: CHECK WHETHER THE GUN THAT IS HANDED TO YOU, IS SAFE.

@Monika Krall Every actor that wants to be in a movie must have basic firearms training and safety course. They are the last line of defense. If they don't want to put in the small effort then they can't be in those scenes. Adds another layer of security. If he even bothered to check or watch them clear the gun (which must be done) the actor is suppose to witness and verify. I think a life is worth the small effort. It works on firearm ranges across the county, actors can be negligent. There is nothing in state laws that say anyone but an actor can be charged with manslaughter.
They are not above the law.

@Lethevert I'm sure as hell looking to make sure everything looks harnessed and/or buckled, just like anybody who has to point a gun at someone in a movie should at the very least check the chamber of the gun. I don't need to be a bungee jumping expert to see if if a harness or a strap is loose or unbuckled, and you don't need to be a gun expert to check if there are bullets in a gun. It's the bare minimum when life is in possible danger.

It’s not that you can’t trust an actor with gun safety if they were so willingly interested in guns and taught it, it’s that you cannot RELY on an actor, trained in and focusing on acting, to be the one who is responsible for it, or EXPECT them to have been trained in and consistent with gun safety. So you take the burden off of them, by hiring someone, like they do with everything else on set. Most of them have probably never shot a gun in their life, and don’t intend to. This is supposed to be *pretend*. They are breaking rules of gun safety by default by pointing it at people and having their finger in the trigger well. Honestly they could be totally unaware if they’re handed a real working gun, non operational gun or a realistic dummy gun. Expecting them to analyze the weapon and check the barrel of the gun each time they are handed it? Lmao. It’s clear you have no concept of this, but there can literally be dozens of takes PER scene while shooting. In between each take, hair people, make up people, costume people, props people etc can all approach the actor for prep. The armorer come and holds the weapon if it’s real. The actor is focused on one thing and one thing only — nailing the next take. Remembering lines, listening to the director’s feedback, and giving a believable performance in front of a room full of people. Worrying about the safety of what is SUPPOSED to be a COLD, PROP gun is simply NOT something they are expected to be responsible for. No matter how much you evil conservatives want to take this opportunity to burn this famous liberal trump hater at the stake. It is an unreasonable burden and would severely limit the selection of actors and quality of performance. Go get a hobby tard. Lol. Separate from trolling and the shooting range

The armorer (or prop master) is responsible for ensuring weapon safety on set. You have to look at what was “out of sorts” on that set.
The armorer was totally inexperienced. On her previous film, which was her first, she would carry guns in a reckless way, pointing them at people. She shot a gun as Nicolas Cage walked by, and he demanded she be fired.
This is all available by searching YT. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed had been careless on her first gig, and her main job on “Rust” was to ensure no live ammo was in the weapons. Yet she didn’t bother checking the weapon before its hand-off. It was her job to hand the weapon to the actor. She did not do her job properly, and it cost one life.

@YoBoiTim If the proper on-set protocols are followed, they wouldn't be endangering the lives of anyone - that's the point.

There have been millions and millions of rounds fired on sets; Think about THE MATRIX. Think about... any film from Michael Bay. Probably billions of blank rounds fired with Bay alone. Just look at the trailer for his new film. Thousands of rounds in that film alone! And remember, they do multiple takes of everything so if it's a scene with gunfire, there may be 5, 6, 7 or more takes all of which feature the gunfire. Only one of those ends up on screen. But every take requires that the Armorer or Prop person reloads those weapons.

And yet, despite all those blank rounds fired in all of those films and television shows, there hasn't been a firearm-related incident on set in 28 years. 28 years!

Why? Because we have standard safety protocols and they are usually followed. And none of them require the actor on set to be the arbiter of safety. Nor should they. There are MANY things we do in the film industry that are dangerous... and accidents happen... but in this case, the fault lies in the extraordinary breach of protocol by Gutierrez Reed and Halls.

@mandofan he still shouldn't have pointed the gun at someone, even if that someone is "the director of cinematography telling me where to point it for a scene". when she told him to adjust his angle in a way that would put her in the line of fire he should have refused and insisted that she, and the director in front/behind her, move out of the way, or that a safety screen be brought in. he's probably not responsible for her death, and most likely isn't guilty of even accidental homicide, but that was still negligent handling of a firearm.

This is crazy and full-on! Some might say this interview was "convincing" on his behalf. No, it wasn't. It was factual. It's terrible for those who were killed - absolutely terrible. Imagine how he feels - accidentally killed someone. Awful. Witch-hunting a scapegoat isn't the answer. Do the work, investigate the safety issue, and ensure it doesn't happen again. Don't assume that it was 'on purpose'. Workplace accidents happen all the time - not just on film sets. Oh, dear.

I can respect the whole process in which Matthew, Halyna's husband spoke to Alec and told him "we both are going to go thru this together". The actors responsibility is Act, play the role, follow director's instructions. The gun (prop) is prop master's responsibility.
It's not why actors didn't check the gun or not, it's how the heck the cold gun became hot. At what point the gun suddenly has live round?
Somebody tampered/sabotaged the gun, the hammer should not disengage without pulling the trigger. Check out John Schneider explain about the colt.

The truly sad part was the union film crew said that there being live rounds found in the prop guns was happening so many times they felt unsafe and refused to work just hours before the accident happened they were replaced by non-union crew members for Alec's fateful scene by which the ousted crew members described as safety corners being cut which ultimately led to a mother paying the price for someone else's complete negligence. It could have been prevented and there's plenty of blame to go around.

There wasnt even a meeting or information after the earlier live rounds were accidentely discharged, wich is why a part of the crew didnt trust the producers anymore as well and left.

If I was an Actor on a Movie Set where I am using guns that can fire real bullets, I would NEVER take the word of ANYONE that a Gun's firing chamber is EMPTY unless I myself checked it for myself period. And if they said well it is a FAKE BULLET so keep it in there I would tell them that I am NOT handling or touching a gun with ANYTHING in the FIRING CHAMBER because I am assuming anything in the chamber could be a real bullet and I am NOT taking that chance.

The point is to have one person (the armourer) who is fully responsible instead of multiple people responsible who are not gun experts like the armourer is, be held responsible for a safety problem. whoever is the last person to check the gun would assume that responsibility, but I guess going forward things will change.

Hollywood should never allow real guns on any set and our government shouldn't allow them in our country. Accidents happen all the time in the US as our gun policies dont support life or well-being. It's a misnomer that we need to determine which one of them is responsible - Baldwin, the AD, the Armorer, whoever slipped the real bullet in there, etc. They can all be responsible/liable, and it appears to me they are. The level of care required when handling a firearm is extremely high. It is maybe one of the highest levels of care that exists in modern life. Baldwin is wrong to suggest that, because trusting others never failed him before, he can blame others now. Rather, if he exercised a high level of care (like Clooney does), Halyna is still alive. Period. The dummy rounds did not need to be in the gun for rehearsal. It should have been fully empty, and he should have verified that. Also, am I missing something? He pointed the gun at Halyna because she directed him to? Who is the producer? Halyna worked for the producers. Not the other way around. Come on. What if she said, "now point it at my head and fire." Would he have done that? No, he just said that himself -- he would "never do that." So why did he do this??? The last one he should be blaming here is the person who lost everything in this, and yet that's what he appears to be doing (saying she told him to point it at her). And everyone knows through common sense that this gun would not fire without his finger on the trigger. And even if it would, why would you let go of the hammer with the gun pointed at her? Why wouldn't you make sure to point it away and ease the hammer back? So much negligence here. Very sad.

And if someone on set has more than experience than someone else, those responsibilities fall on the shoulders of the more experienced? Baldwin didn’t hire anyone on the set. People need to start taking responsibility for what they do. The armorers job was to prevent exactly what happened on the set of Rust. If Baldwin as an actor needs to do the armorers work, then why is the armorer needed in the first place? Are they just sitting on set collecting a check? Gutierrez and the guy she handed the gun to who checked it and declared it “cold” before handing it to Baldwin are both responsible. It’s as simple as that.

@caity bear in a revolver there is no chamber for a round to get lodged in, the cartridge goes into the cylinder, the cylinder rotates and the top slot lines up with the barrel, then the bullet is fired out of the cartridge, the cylinder rotates to bring the next slot in line with the barrel, and the cartridge remains in its slot until the operator manually ejects it out.

An actor’s/actress’s responsibility is to do what’s in their job description and the prop/armorer is suppose to do what’s in their job description. Simple as that.
People saying “you never point a gun at anyone on set,” are idiots. You HAVE to for certain shots.
There will be prints on the casing of that live round. I really hope it was found and the person responsible is prosecuted to the fullest extent. That’s not just an accident, that’s being completely negligent and incompetent in your job.

And also by the way the armorer was NOT even present, so to say he trusts the woman to do the job who is not EVEN THERE present on the set to do her job or give him the gun is ridiculous. He never even mentioned to George that the armoror was not present. He did the whole interview never once mentioning that she was not there and Alec was the producer. So if somebody is missing it's his job to make sure that everything is checked properly when one employee is not there able to do that job. Especially such an important job! And if you notice George never asked him whether or not she was present & never pointed it out. He seemed to be too agreeable/ in cahoots with Baldwin and probably had to agree to not question too much in order to get this interview. George could have gotten much more inquisitive to get more down to the root of these problems!

An actor may not even have the ability to tell the difference between a dummy round and a live round anyway. Imagine your an actor handed an AK-47 filled with dummy rounds, you can't be expected to go inspecting each round to ensure no powder is in them. The armorer should always show the entire crew and demonstrate the safety of the weapon before handing it to any actor. IMHO.

He understands that our court system does not consider instigation by armed right wing racists during the court proceedings, so he can walk around armed in a crowd of angry people and provoke them, and when they react in their own self defense, he can shoot them dead and get away with it. It's the old Zimmerman routine. Stalk someone with a gun and make them afraid for their life, then when they defend themselves shoot them dead so there's no one to give their side of the story. Even better if you can get their reaction to your threats on tape, so you have "proof" they "attacked you". It's just so weird that he would be there since he lived in another state and wasn't hired by anyone to provide security and had been fantasizing about shooting people ON VIDEO two weeks earlier - a video the judge conveniently didn't let the jury consider when sentencing him. The judge threw out the video of him saying he wished he could shoot people and threw out the ILLEGAL GUN CHARGE. Any way you cut it, he's coming off guilty. It's the guy who is holding the gun's responsibility to check the gun, but even if we take Baldwin's word and put that responsibility solely on the armorer, the fact that he was freely using the gun, knowingly, without the armorer present, satisfies the basic definition of negligence. In the state this took place in, negligence involving a firearm is upgraded to what in legal terms they call reckless endangerment, and if this reckless endangerment gets someone killed, what would be a criminal negligence charge gets bumped up to a manslaughter charge.

I'm no expert but I grew up with guns & my father trained me with gun safety & target shooting. Of course, common sense dictates that guns don't go off by itself. However, I do believe that Alec didn't intentionally shoot anyone and as far as his denial of ever pulling the trigger, considering the possibilities, his age at 63, one of the signs of senility is forgetfulness...just observe Joe Biden and you'll see what I mean. Alec must have forgotten that he pulled the trigger and even if he'd be honest & truthful and said that he pulled the trigger because they were filming and it was part of the scene, it wasn't a deliberate act to shoot or kill anyone would be more believable. To those who say the gun could not accidental discharge I would only refer you to the email from the crew the night before who walked off the set because there were two accidental discharges. You have crewmembers saying that there were guns that went off when they should not have and if that is the case then the exact same thing absolutely could’ve happened to Mr. Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin has never been my favorite person but I do believe his grief is genuine as is his shock. There were not supposed to be live rounds on the set. Figuring out why there were is the magic question. Also remember that this man now has to live with the fact that he killed someone and injured someone else.

@tubester4567 it’s definitely the directors fault also. agree there. i’m not sure why the armorer wasn’t on set. if she knew a gun was being handled and defaulted to her other job anyway rather than the set with the gun she’s at fault. if they neglected to even tell her they were handling a gun that day or that scene or whatever it’s their fault again. but finally the director we agree on, didn’t check and alec knew he didn’t check, and also knew he wasn’t the armorer. so he can’t be taking a gun from his non armorer even tho “sometimes” the assistant producer will grab the gun, proceed to knowingly neither check it, then aim it at someone even by their own instruction and pull the hammer or trigger. that’s again negligent on his part. not intentionally, i don’t think he did any of this intentionally, just carelessly unfortunately

@Professor Zoom Nah, then its the Directors assistant fault. Whoever loaded the gun and gave it to Baldwin is mostly at fault. The armorer also has some responsibility for not protecting the arms like she is supposed to. Then there is the possibility that an unhappy crew member threw some live rounds amongst the blank rounds, but its still the armorers responsibility to protect the arms from sabotage. Baldwin has some responsibility too given he was a producer and responsible for hiring these people. The DA, the armorer and Baldwin should be charged with negligent homicide.

Hmmm. I was badly injured on a set once years ago and could have died…it wrecked so much for me plus the response from the ones responsible was so lousy. Talk about a nightmare. It’s not only guns but so many other factors that can make a set dangerous.
I’m my case I suffered many broken bones and a punctured lung and actually it also cost me my role in the film and if that wasn’t horrible enough, I lost my home because I was forced to recover in bed for months on end. The pain was just horrible and the people in charge wanted to take zero responsibility so I was literally shunned.
There need to be better things in place to create safe environments so that accidents don’t happen.
I’m my care I was forced to work late after I’d already had a full day. Plus none of the safety people were present either.
Actually when I think about it now everyone who worked at that studio was quite a jerk even before I was injured, but afterwards they became full blown assholes and they all tried to pass the buck. But to this day I clearly remember who was most responsible and also, the ones who covered for him. It was really scary and sad because you sacrifice so much to move away for your dreams to work in the biz, and when its ripped away due to a dangerous set…
In my situation I remember people telling this guy all the time on set that he wasn’t following safety protocols and he’d literally cuss at them and tell them to shut up. Anyway, yep. If somebody is not taking safety seriously bad things do happen.
I think the person in charge of firearms absolutely failed here.

This says everything I need to know about his treatment of firearms, and his idea of personal responsibility. Had he believed for even a moment that his actions could have consequences if something where to happen when holding a REAL gun, then maybe he'd put in the extra 5 seconds it takes to check the gun yourself just in case, because in the end of the day, the actor is the last person who's handled it, not the armorer. That being said, I think the armor should never work again, and whoever let live rounds onto a set and put it int he gun is also responsible.

It is a tragic event that a live was lost and another person was shot, but I genuinely believe Alec did not mean to hurt anyone. He trusted the armorer and the DP, who said it was cold. The DP should have checked to actually see if it was cold before stating that. He clearly didn't check.
Question: is it up to Alec to check the gun? If not, then it's not his fault. If it is, then it is his fault. Another question is who put the live round in the gun, and why wasn't it checked?

First of all.. May GOD rest her soul in peace. From what I understand from the interview is that he is telling nothing but the truth. He clearly mentioned that he didn't pull the trigger, he just let the hammer go which the gun was not supposed to go off instead it was supposed to click and stop at the end until the trigger is pulled. So I'm sure the people who are responsible for this are the ones handling the gun props. And I'm sure the biggest question here is, Who put a live round in the gun? That's the person who should be responsible for her death.

@BedRoomGeneral The armourer hired for the movie is a 24 year old woman with pink and green hair. Could this have been a “hire more diverse women” thing? All I’m saying is if you have an armourer who actually knows firearms and safety, as well as an actor who exercises basic gun safety, none of this happens.
Maybe they need to go back and look at the hiring process because something isn’t right somewhere in all this.

People seem to be conflating guns and gun handling protocol in the 'real world' with prop guns and the protocol for their use on a movie set. I'm not a gun person whatsoever but it seems to me there's a salient distinction between the two. While it would never be responsible or excusable to point a gun at someone in the real world (with or without checking to see if it was loaded first), it would be more than reasonable to assume that a prop gun on the confines of a movie set wasn't loaded. Context makes a big difference. And it really seems like there must have been some sort of sabotage here with someone throwing a live round into the mix. My heartfelt condolences to everyone effected.

He's not, at all. First of all, the question (or, really, statement) by Stephanopoulos is absurd. They even show a clip from another film called PIXIE with Baldwin - I've never seen the film - that shows him pointing a gun at, like, four people who are pointing guns back at him. In RED OCTOBER, Baldwin points a .45 at Thomas Arana and shoots him. If you're pointing a gun in a film or tv show, presumably you're aiming at someone in the scene.

The DP (or sometimes Operator) on a shoot will often tell an actor in an individual shot where he or she needs to look (eyeline) or, if a scene involving a gun, where he or she needs to point the weapon. The fact that Hutchins told him where to point or that he aimed where she told him to has nothing to do with anything. It is merely a fact of what happened on the day. The needs of the scene and that specific shot dictated that he aim the weapon just off the lens. There should have been no reason why that was unacceptable save for the fact that there was an inexperienced Armorer who failed to carry out her job and a First A.D. who ignored standard safety protocols that have kept this from happening for the last 28 years.

It isn't appropriate for me, someone who isn't a gun expert and doesn't work in the film industry, to comment on this other than to say my heart goes out to all involved, especially the family of Haylna Hutchins. I can certainly understand gun experts' sentiment that a gun should never be pointed at a person, period. I can also absolutely understand Alec Baldwin's explanation that you respect the chain of custody and follow your prop master's instructions. I can sympathize with both views. I wasn't there that day and I'm not qualified to talk about it, though, so I'll just leave it at that.

All I’m going to say to the internet experts is it’s easy to make judgements in hindsight and what you’d do in situations you’re simply not in to actually know. Sheriff Mendoza said something like the gun was in your hand when it discharged... Basically the legal guys would say Baldwin's actions were the proximite cause of the descendant's death, which meets the criteria for involuntary manslaughter/neglegent homicide.

Talking about an inanimate object as if it fired itself is deceitful, a knife, a bat, a car etc can kill in the hands of someone untrained. The is no exception to the rule "never point a gun at someone you don't intend to shoot" or the other rule "when aiming a gun look beyond what you're aiming at". How about trying to find out the one who over clipped the gun and or placed the live bullet in the gun if there was a live bullet. My heart goes out to all involved with this surreal tragedy. It is possible that the over clicking set up Alec two take the fall after the hammer was released. He was, taking direction from the DOP and followed DOP’s direction… major accidental discharge and so check out the line of pre-prepped before that by others.

As to the left and right media, they should go back to reporting the news that they discover by investigation. Sadly main stream media is now commentary at a time when we could benefit from the news rather than their opinions about the news. As to swimming you may not be surprised by this but I was a water safety instructor and I teach people how to swim, and specifically teaching people who cannot swim what to do should they find themselves under water. You might surmise that swimming while intoxicated is extremely dangerous. Even young people who are good swimmers can suffer a heart attack because the alcohol makes swimming extremely difficult on the body.
I know that every dangerous issue is best countered by education in safety. I have also taught food safety which is truly essential to our very being. We are too trusting of our food sources. I use thermometers when cooking food and I know how to avoid common issues with food including the one that shocks me most: how to wash vegetables. Remember a few years back we had a recall on fresh spinach. There was nothing wrong with the spinach but people, as a general rule including commercial kitchens, don’t know how to wash fresh spinach. The only way to fix that problem is to teach people how to handle food safely. Education is key to keeping people safe.

@Shelly Scholz I agree with most of what you say, but the truth is we are headed in the wrong direction. We just had a kid here in Wisconsin , Kenosha who killed two people and ended up on Fox news as a political pawn. I disagree with you on the laws. We need stricter gun laws.

I know a lot of people who don't know how to swim . They need to stay away from water.
You bring up an interesting point. Why are kids handed guns in the first place ? We just had another school shooting where a kid got a gun that was supposedly stored in a dresser drawer.

Do a google search and you will find the majority of states do not require safety training before you buy a gun. It is only a recommendation.

@ Yoga For The Ageless my point is similar. If everyone was trained in gun safety then there would be a sort of moral code that would be stronger than any laws. I’ve raised four children. Only one of them owns a gun but they were all raised with gun safety. The one who owns a gun uses it during hunting season to get a deer. The others live in populated communities where gun safety dictates that they could never fire a gun in their area so why buy one? Gun safety dictates that shots are not fired without a target in plain view, isn’t near a building or a road. Yet gun violence is committed in urban and suburban areas where it’s already against the law. We don’t need more laws, we need people to act in a moral way. Once a society looses its moral compass the law has no value to the citizens. I’ve lost three people to gun violence. Two were law enforcement. One was killed trying to save a mother. The other was killed while saving a family. No world will ever be free of guns but while I’m in this world I would rather be surrounded by people who know and practice gun safety. The media, tv, video games, etc. are numbing people to the horror that is gun violence. The best way to combat this is by teaching and practicing gun safety.

@Shelly Scholz you are misunderstanding me. I totally agree with you on gun safety and I support responsible gun ownership, but let's not support irresponsible gun ownership and lets get the guns out of their hands if possible. The best gun safety is not to have one
The person that got shot with the toy gun was a kid, so do we need to train them in gun safety ? Maybe we do.
It is far too easy to get one and we are seeing example after example of this. . I would hope that responsible gun owners would ban together and be against just anyone owning a gun, but that does not seem to be the case.

I have posted my views on several of these sites and had very little agreement that a real gun does not belong on a movie site and if they can not see that then it will have to be regulated.

We get it!! In everyday life, of COURSE you never point a gun at anyone! This is the freakin MOVIE industry. Just STOP! Who thinks that there would be "live" rounds in a "prop gun". Bunches of folks living in glass houses when it comes to THIS situation.

@Darth Grant Yeah, that is the approach that sociopath Baldwin tried to use in this interview: "You little people know nothing about how these movies are filmed." That approach went over like a live round on the set of a western film. Apparently Baldwin can't even follow the basic safety rules of his own guild, so apparently Baldwin doesn't know how these movies are made either.

It was a real gun, therefore it should have been treated like a real gun. Baldwin is not only a sociopath, but he is also a dumb ass that cares about nobody but himself. This interview proved that.

@Drea J Be that as it may, the job to check the gun doesn’t fall to the actor. Some sets are more collaborative than others and some actors are involved in that process. It’s not an industry standard thing. So in regards to “this situation”, you telling someone “They don’t see the issue here” is comical and ironic.

My sympathies for the families of the victims and of Alec Baldwin...
This accident is terrible, especially to happen to such an anti-gun activist... Its probably his worst nightmare...

And my P.S. Is, that George Clooney is such a pompous arrogant person. Eww Eww Eww.
