Tell Me When
Alexander Rybak Lyrics

And if I fall asleep we'll meet in dreams
Christmas time is magic after all
Tell me when
I am loosing my mind
Cause I am in love
But still I'm happy
Cause soon so very soon tomorrow comes
But I can't wait to hold her in my arms
Tell me when
I am loosing my mind
Cause I am in love
Merry Christmas
I am loosing my mind
Cause I am in love
The first verse sets the scene, indicating that the person the songwriter is in love with is at home, possibly asleep. The mention of falling asleep and meeting in dreams suggests a longing for a connection with this person, even while they are apart. The reference to Christmas time being magic suggests that the songwriter finds joy and hope in the holiday season, as it has the power to bring people together and create a sense of wonder.
The repeated phrase "Tell me when I am losing my mind" signifies the intense emotions the songwriter is experiencing due to being in love. It suggests that love can be overwhelming and make a person feel like they are losing control or rationality. This could be interpreted as the songwriter being enraptured and consumed by their feelings for this person.
The chorus reflects on the songwriter's state of being alone, but still finding happiness in the anticipation of tomorrow, when they will have the opportunity to hold the person they love in their arms. Despite their current solitude, there is optimism and excitement for the future, reinforcing the depth of the emotions they feel.
The final line, "Merry Christmas, I am losing my mind cause I am in love," brings the focus back to the holiday season. It suggests that the joy and spirit of Christmas has only amplified the songwriter's emotions, further emphasizing the overwhelming nature of their love. It conveys a sense of surrender to the intensity of their feelings and the happiness that comes with being in love during this special time of year.
