The song "Universo" by Alfonso Espriella is a beautiful expression of the individual's journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. The lyrics suggest that the world is nothing more than a mirror that reflects our own illusions, and that our minds can dissolve into a lake of heaven. The idea being that if we can let go of our preconceived notions of reality, we can transcend our current state of being and merge with something greater than ourselves.
The lyrics continue to describe a sense of oneness with the universe, where the singer's eternal, beloved, serpent and honey of his soul is felt as a dance happening within him. The night is a symbolic representation of darkness, and the full moon represents the illumination of that darkness. This illumination, in turn, is described as a dance that is only possible when we can let go of our fears and embrace the unknown.
