The lyrics of Ali Sethi's "Dil Ki Khair" are contemplative and seek answers to existential questions related to the human condition. The lines "kab tak dil ki khair manaaye" (how long can one continue to appease the heart) and "kab tak chain ki mohlat doon ge" (how long will I grant respite to my restless soul) suggest a sense of weariness and exhaustion with trying to pacify oneself. The persona yearns for a sense of peace and direction in life, asking "kab tak raah dikha loge" (how long will you show me the way) and "kab tak yaad na aoge" (how long will I remember you).
The second stanza talks about the different facets of love and commitment, asking "ehd-e-wafa ya tark-e-mohabbat" (is it a promise of steadfastness or an argument of love) and stating that even though the persona may want to control their own destiny, it's really not up to them, asking "apne bas ki baat hi kya hai, humse kya mangwaoge" (what can I ask for that is within my control). The final stanza uses weather metaphors to convey the intensity of the pain felt, asking "kab bhejoge dard ka baadal" (when will you send the raincloud of grief) and "kab barkha barsaoge" (when will you shower your blessings). Overall, the song portrays a sense of longing for a higher purpose and a desire to find meaning in one's life.

The contrasting video is the best compliment to the morbid lyrics.
It depicts how we people drown our sorrows in festivities and temporary pleasures.
We all realise that the pain will hit harder in the morning and we lose ourselves a bit more in the mundanity.
We live in the anticipation of hurt.
Its beautiful.
Thank you for making this Ali Sethi. ❤❤

I was thinking of the same but in a different way...how can one dance over a sad song..means that's just unimaginable
@sleeponurbednotonrose3432
That is so accurate. When everybody leaves it's all so quiet; this song reflects on that
