Reviewing the album for PopMatters, critic Elizabeth Woronzoff states "Merton's ability to find hope in the negative was the catalyst for MINT's standout track, "Why So Serious". Written as a response to critics who wrote Merton off as a one-hit-wonder, "Why So Serious" castigates the cynics. As specified in MINT's press release, Merton comments, "Music is supposed to be fun! We don't write songs to be hits, we write songs so we feel good." More so, the track, as well as the majority of the album, reminds listeners to live in the moment and to unshackle from the negativity. "

I do not know, who else noticed it. Certainly a few will think the same.
Alice told in one of the battle-episodes of TVOG 2019, that she likes rap. And in some songs like "2 Kids" or especially this one she is bringing some rap flows into it.
For example the points in this song, where she is singing
"But I can read your thoughts and I can see that you ain’t alright. But you won’t tell me why"
OR the part with
"And I know you better than you think you might know yourself. So why do you still act so lonely"...
The flow / pronunciation here is getting faster, but still matching the beat (flawless) and you're kinda hearing it, that she experiences bringing a bit of rap into her songs.
For real... If you ask me... That sounds fking great! 😍💖
It is beautiful to hear, that artists like her don't want to bring like static songs with the same beat or feelings all over the time. They want sometimes try something else and find their way with the music, they like.
